Its been a great journey, but sadly I've now finished the game and the adventures come to an end (aside from future DLC).

I'm wondering if there are any other PC RPGs in development, that I should be getting excited about?  The only one I can think of is the Witcher 2.

Also wondering if there have been any other good RPG released fairly recent, that I may have missed, as haven't really been keeping tabs.  I've completed Risen  just to rule that one out.

Any suggestions?

If you have the PC version of Dragon AGe you could just keep a look out for scenarios / adventures made by players which would be free to download.

Other than that..for us pc RPG players..there is no life after Dragon Age! the humanity hehe j/kin.

The Dragon Age™ Toolset

But why did you not posted it in the non-mmorpg section?

I might play the Witcher again, I never downloaded the enhanced pack.  I actually found the Witcher was very similar to dragon age in the way it plays and feels.  Also might try Oblivion again, never did any of the add on packs.

There is one game in development called project offset that looks pretty awesome, but it one of those games that may never see the light of day, due to the small dev team.

Well I guess its back to reality then for a bit, I'll see what player DA content arises.

Because Dragon Age is a non-mmorpg.  Its a single player rpg!!!  Probably my mistake don't post often enough to know what the crack is.

You do not need to post allot, you simply just need to read before you post something as to where you post it.

I keep saying this but I really thought gamers would be good at finding things in a wimp.

What can I say, I've overdosed on too much Dragon Age and my minds turned to putty.  I thought if I clicked non-mmorpg, Morigan would magically appear with with my demon child!!!  Lifes hard when its not multiple choice.

This^^

I've finished my second full play through, and have tried all the origin stories (About 140 hours invested so far). Next on my to play list is Risen.

And has CDPR confirmed The Witcher 2? It's been a few months since I last popped on the forums....

Theres been a few leaked play vids over the past months, some on www.pczone.co.uk   I think CDPRs been purchased by a bigger developer.  I'm gonna go back to Risen got half way through then Dragon Age came out.

Looking forward to Witcher 2 and yeah it's been confirmed, just don't know when it will released.

If you not seen it yet take a look at: The Witcher 2 Gameplay - Internal video!

Oh yeah, that looks bad ass! I can't wait to play it. I might put Risen on hold and do another Witcher play through instead lol.

*Edit*

Speaking of Mass Effect ... I like DAO better all around, but I wish your toon in DAO was as awesome as Shepard.

I've seen movies that were less linear then dragonage.  BW needs to take lessons from Bethesda(Oblivion).

lol, I know what you mean.

OP, you might want to consider, if you have never done this and if you can be a bit forgiving about graphics, ordering the original Baldur's gate series. Apparently there is a 4 pack of this series that should run on windows xp. Even though I have finished DA and have made it through a good part of the game using other characters I decided to order this.

http://www.amazon.com/Baldurs-Gate-4-1-Boxset-PC/dp/B000FGA1US/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1258758271&sr=8-1

I'll admit that I got it used on amazon for twenty dollars and it is on its way as I write this. I never finished the original Baldur's gate and had a hard time getting through BG 2 but I was younger then and though I did enjoy them, there were things that didn't spur me on to continue. However being older and wiser I suspect that I'll be able to get through them and enjoy them as they should be enjoyed.

As someone mentioned, the witcher is also a contender. There is a lot of good to say about this game. My issues with it were that the movement was somewhat slow to stop and start. Sort of a more realistic way for characters to move. And unfortunately for me, when I clicked somewhere for the main character to go, it would be so slow to start I couldn't tell if the game was being wonky or if the character was "starting to move". Because of this I started gettng hand aches from repeatedly pounding the mouse key to get my charcter to move.

However, that's my issue. It's dark and gritty and the main character is interesting. If you have a decent machine you should have no problem.

What was incorrect about my statement? Even a blind fanboi can see that the game is linear and is not an open world. Maybe you like being guided through a game but games like Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls Series will always be better then linear games (like DA). If I wanted to watch cinematics every 5 min I would just watch a movie.

Different approach. Oblivion with its sandbox approach suffered from a very poor story. You need to have a [roughly] linear gameplay in order to make the story work.

Personally I disliked the Elder Scrolls games a lot, since they felt  dead, empty and purposeless. Fallout 3 was great but the story was nothing really captivating, it was the free roaming that made it fun.

P.S When stating your opinion it's good to avoid outright lies ['cinematic every 5 minutes'].

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

I'll answer that for you. Oblivion may have been less linear in that you could pick a direction and wander through the wilderness, but the storyline was anything but open-ended. There were lots of quests here and there, but the main storyline was the same no matter how you went through it.

Dragon Age has choices that actually do affect the outcome of the story... some of them significantly. In every way that matters in terms of an RPG, Dragon Age is less linear than your example. And you can choose in what order you visit each area in the game... which really isn't much different from deciding to go east first, instead of west.

I do agree with you though that Oblivion's open-map approach is a bit more immersive and preferable in my opinion... but I still enjoyed the story and overall game experience in Dragon Age more than I did in Oblivion.
