This is to end the incessant whines about Darkfall not having all of the features at launch that were talked about in their interviews while developing the game.  

I see some regular Darkfall hate-bots (not saying any names)  that post daily on these boards claiming over and over that AV is out to scam you and they were lied to blah blah blah and I just wanted to point out that is not necesarily true for those people who were unaware.

Darkfall had a lot planned and AV is gradually fulfulling some of the features it promised.   Granted some features were re-evaluated and dropped like in every game in existence.  MMORPGs especially pvp centric ones like Darkfall need to have carefull consideration of balance and gameplay and take time to work those things out.

  Aventurine is a small company and didn't have the funds to do 6 additional months of beta testing and had Mortal Online, a game with nearly all the same promised features as DFO but with on the unreal engine, threatening to release within a year.   Darkfall is of course a vastly superior game, Mortal Online didn't even have the sense to allow you greater vision range while in melee or while riding a mount.  Regardless, a lot of people will pick a game with better graphics thinking it somehow translates to better gameplay.

So Darkfall release ahead of its schedule and had a few issues.  .   Things got worked out eventually, however, I still see the repeated complaint about "what AV promised me" , it reminds me of a child screaming at their parents over a cookie that wasn't delivered exactly at the time the child wanted and screams "But you promised" and has used that as an excuse to claim AV "lied" to them and is a shady company out to scam you.  Yea, sure, Aventurine spent 8 years developing a game, making the largest continuous game world in existence to scam you out of your money.

Its time to retire this claim that AV lied to you and is out to scam you by not having all of the features it said it would have at launch.  If you notice on the box of any mmorpg it says "gameplay experince may change".  I have never bought an mmorpg game that had everything in the game exactly as it was in the game manual.

While it seems Darkfall is lacking a bit in the PvE area many games like Eve online where, and may still be, like this in thier infancy. I played Darkfall for a month or two. In that time I drew several parallels between it and Eve. Namely that while there is solo content and PvE content in the game, it is most enjoyed when played in a gang of friends beating the crap out of slow loners and really fun in pitch battle against opposing gangs. This is why I stopped playing Darkfall. Not because of the lack of content but the fact that I don't have the time in my life right now to commit to Eve full time AND Darkfall full time. If I wasn't into Eve I would be playing DF right now. In the few big battles I wandered into I had a great time dieing...lol.

 Why make this post other than to stir shit up? Things have been fairly peaceful here for a while. If you want zero debate then dont come to this site. Let sleeping dogs lie.

Just to point out  that Darkfall doesn't even have a boxed version of the game; which i believe is imperative in order to have that statement actually written on it ;so your entire "argument" goes out the window right there without me having to actually go through the rest of your post pointing out the sheer lunacy of it, thankfully..................

I've actually been impressed with Darkfall and the changes they have made.  Heck, the player base even made a guild for new players.  I think a lot of people have resolved whether they are going to play the game or not, well, until at least a trial is offered.  Things have been quite civil on the DF boards of late....so, why the this post?

 Can't we all just agree that Darkfall is a really bad game that happens to have full loot mechanics, I mean that's really the only reason this game has more than 1000 subscribers isn't it?

I think if WoW opened a full loot server that you would all leave, right, ehh, ehh, ehh?  Oh I forgot that the magical spells shoot like a big ball of magic poo, so you better aim that ball into your targets feet, like we're playing Doom.
