Tempted by double XP offer and no better option to play decided to re-sub AoC ,my last period with game ended about 5 months ago ,quited cose of various in game issues ,alt-tab crash ,poor performance ,lag ,and so on . Thought ,hah there must be some changes since i left last time. Surprise!? Bugs persisted ,lag somewhat less noticeable though existing ,DX9 game play barely at 30fps (had upgraded video card meantime,overall i do own decent PC) ,DX10 mode unplayable ,slide show basically (yes i know ,is a "test" mode).

General feeling of the game was .i have seen this before...alt-f4.

 There was a post few days ago "Should i get 12 months subscription plan for AoC?" sure thing at least you will get same consistent quality of the game for next 12 months ,does it matter what sort of quality? 

Expansion pack is coming to AoC...disaster will strike again.

I've recently taken out a 3 month sub for AoC after a good 6 months away myself.

My experiences are the total opposite so I don't think it's quite as gloomy a picture as you paint it tbh. I run the DX10 client, haven't any lag at all, no crashes while alt-tabbing. The game look just as great as a remember, and seems to run much much smoother.

I'm not saying you're not having problems, maybe you need to lower the GFX settings a little. You can't have everything maxed out without a fairly hefty rig.

whitez, your problems seem computer hardware related rather than AOC related.  You should starting saving for a new rig

just tried it yesterday. 100ish fps on dx9 and some lag spikes that could be server side or my connection. didnt boter to check since i only pveed a bit

lag spikes, yay, being static in "improving the game" much? AoC is actually very good for seeing how other games are good, a reminder.

global was hilarious yesterday, shame I did not screenie it.

I don´t know about the lag. Quit months ago. But alt+tab crashes usually depends on your RAM. With 2gb while running Vista any newer game can produce these crashes, depending on your virtual memory aswell ofcourse.

Try it yourselfs if it takes a long time to alt+tab to just the desktop you have too small amount of RAM. If it´s pretty much instantaneous (within 10 seconds) You have enough.

i Came back to Aoc and im having a blast this is the Game of ultimate skill.

These aren't AoC problems, these are problems with your hardware configuration.  There is a pretty big difference.

Most people have none of the problems you mentioned.

Was thinking the same thing. Or he has set everyting on full; that most computers wont like; and are running apps in background. 

The lag last night might come from the extended server lagg or that he have logged on in an area that is now heavy npc populated(I get this in Old tarantia and Guild city around trader)

 Decided to retest the game after almost a year since they offered 15 days free for veterans.

Played for 1 hour, only to see that the problems are still there, at least the ones who bothered me.

Went to tortage up to lvl 11, saw the new stats and stuff. As soon as I logged my old main character disaster strikes again, loading to enter in Old Tarantia I had 4 crashes until I finally could enter. This was enough to make me logout and uninstall again. 

Ppl told me in global that the crashes were solved and then suddenly came back on one of the last patches. But lol, im not gonna stick around to find out
