Forget for a moment that the game has a great theme, real time crafting, and uniqueness of its own.  The Dev team keeps its fans in the loop as for patching and known issues.  All this I really like and enjoy about the game.

That said, one reason I am quiting this game is due to the lack of content at level 33.  Seriously, there are 0 quests to be found in sector 3.

Another reason is the conflict towns.  I dont understand the concept behind them.  Its faction based PVP.  Well sort of.  You have allied factions and a faction of your own.  Essentially everyone thats on your faction is supposed to work together to gain or maintain control of that town.  Well, one day I was strolling into a conflict town that was under my faciton's control and I was about to search for some quests when a player of  my own faciton blew my head off.  Yeah I got owned by a level 41 when I was level 33.  I died and he got a small penalty toward his faction standing im told.  So after this little episode, I decided this game has no real objective to be gained.  Everyone, no matter if your on the same faction or not, kills eachother in a conflict PVP zone.   Why not just have  PVP zones with no factions and be done with it?  (Yes I know these exist in game already)

So, whats the point of the game?  Bosses dont really drop a "chest" so to speak.  there are no real rewards fro killing a "boss".  Is it an endless mind numbing PVP of survival of the fittest?  Or is there plans for more in the future?  Because as of right now, after these issues, I have lost alot of interest in this game.  Not to mention all of the Q4 console games being released right now that pulls my attentions away from this game.  MW2 and Dragon Age etc.  I may come back in about 6 months.

You are the first person to say there is no content at lvl 33. I am confused really.

Perhaps I was not clear.  There are 0 quests besides repeatables that grant 50xp at level 33 that I have found.  And I have travelled circles around sector 3 for a while now.

I quit as well. I just didn't see any real direction for the "end goal" at the moment. I will admit thought that I'm not normally a fan of post-apoc themes, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. The game was fun for me until around level 10, then I felt as thought it was a chore and was never really immersive to me. Regardless, Fallen Earth is a solid game for the people that like it's themes and presentations. I may check it out in a year or a two.

I never grind once for experience in this game, and I am level 45. Perhaps you need to explore more.

There are quests outside of the normal route and really need some explorations to find them. Towns like New Flagstaff University, Devil's Own Fortress, the vampire city between Barret minor and devon township, last stop, the creeper station west of blaine, Gamburian Encampment (between holly point and tinkersdam, non-pvp) or even Burnside (south east of the map).

The pvp is lacking in this game and doesnt really pick up until S3, but you cant really blame someone higher level ganking lower levels. If you dont want pvp or afraid you will get ganked, just dont enter, period.

Good thing they dont have BG type pvp in this game and be graceful with it.

The point about PVP I was trying to press was about Faction based PVP.  I dont mind PVP when there is some kind of order to it.  In this game, as of now, it is everyone for themselves.  which holds true to an apoc. theme, however I dont think it works well in an MMO where your trying to work with people.  I am not upset about the ganking, really could care less, its the Faction part that bothers me.

Ya, the problem been addressed to the dev team. The problem that same faction pvp for deadtoll is getting look at.

All I can tell you is, The game really pick up once you are level 35 and start doing quests in S3. You can still do quests at level 33 at dieseltown all the way to monkey town @ S3 now.

LOL that is too funny.  As you can see there is / was definite truth to the lack of content.  I did cancel the account, main reason being is the faction based PVP problems.  Its a huge cluster right now and I dont care to play it.  Unfortunately, this was a major selling point of the game to me.  When they fix this I might return.

I haven't tackled any type of Faction PvP yet, but if your in relations with a certain faction, does the game show you and other players what Faction you are with ICONS... (CHOTA, Vista, Enforcer, Lightbearer, Traveller and Tech)?

Now I am going back to my SWG days, the players had either Imperial Icons or Rebel Icon if they were tagged for PvP. Is it pretty similiar or is it a FFA with friendly fire even if your grouped with other players, you can kill them as well?

I only had 1 cup of coffee and heading to work, so if my explanation is pretty bad.. sorry bout that.. I will edit later.

The only thing to recognize a friendly or hostile faction is by the color of a person on your radar as far as I know.  But i have yet to figure what color represents which faction.  Oh yeah, friendly fire is active in a PVP zone.  So wactch out for that too.

Did you guys per chance come from WOW? I do not mean that in a bad way,i only ask because REAL good game design, does not worry about REACHING for end game.A game is SUPPOSE to be reaching for each level,or better yet,the game should have ideas to not even care about your next level. This is just another reason why PVP fails yet again, players racing to get a higher level so they can win at PVP,not just levels but to raise their skills higher also,so then it does become a RACE to end game. Then when PVP players have no more useful skills and levels to gain that advantage, they cry out for more end game content,to further chase that carrot of being the PVP king.

I really wish ALL the devs would get rid of PVP,and get gaming back to playing for fun. They should spend that wasted time on PVP and use it to make creative quests for PVE.There is s till a million ways to spice up PVE,there is no need for PVP at all in RPG's.Man when i played FFXI for several years and Vanguard and Everquest for that matter, not once did i ever feel PVP was missing,it actually never even crossed my mind for a single second.

One of the reasons I did not join this game, it is too themepark for my taste, it has very limited PVP roles.

I do not know, maybe if it was full loot or full loot unless you have insured your equipment then the money goes to the killer or left on your body. I do not see the point of playing this game with the lack of PVP content and no end game goal.

I have one of the trials and I decided not to sub because I heard the economy was pretty crappy because of making alt characters to craft with. I was also kind of hoping it would be like Eve with the whole game being end-game, so to speak.

Dont get me wrong;  I had a blast playing the game until level 33.  I was looking forward to PVP around 40ish, but after all we have talked about in previous posts its just not looking very fun.  The fun factor to me was looking forward to faction based PVP.  Stangers within the same factions helping eachother to secure control points.  Not simply just a slugfest for the survival of the fittest. Which this game is proving to be.

Heh, thats a good one!  Good point too.  I just was looking for a more team orientated pvp overall I guess.  Who knows maybe the devs will make it that way someday.

I'd think that this may be happening in large part because there aren't alot of folks up there and the faction ranks haven't "filled out". But, if it isn't fun for you, sure, don't play. You certainly don't need our approval on that, lol! Fun is the point.

Given time I can see it growing to that "fighting over control points" stage. I can also see Icarus adding in player made structures such as guard towers and "roadblocks" through which players can cordon off areas of future sectors and claim it as theirs. Just takes time and us letting the devs, who show that they are listening to the community just as well, if not better than most MMO companies.

I had a completely different experiance. Driving through a heavy farmed area I was very nervous until I saw a fellow faction member snipeing. I rode over to him with a immense sigh of releif and we joked about how jumpy we were and hung out and did a little pvp together on road travelors before heading off in opposite directions.

I am exactly in the same boat. I never PVP in MMORPG's, I don't feel it neither necessary nor fun. It is contradictory to those game's mechanincs, you described it pretty well. However, developers would not get rid of it, as it is a selling point too.

If I want to get competitive, I play Battlefield or any other online FPS. MUCH more fun and entertaining, and those ones are really about skill, and not just about rewarding those who had the most time wasted into a game to be the first one to get capped....
