Everyone I know agrees Pokemon would be an incredible MMO.  It has an amazing universe, engaging characters and excellent scope to evolve.

Nintendo would never do it due to the fact they would not support a PC game, they like the IP to bring in unlimited wealth in all its console incarnations and hate the idea of socializing online through games being the family friendly company it is.

However, where are the shameless rip off's and Pokemon style MMO's?  The closest thing I've found is MegaTen with it's Demon 'befriending' system.

I'd instantly try something similar to Pokemon in the MMO world, what are peoples thoughts?

Their creators are lazy they didn't even do any more pokemon card games on pc,ecc there's only one on gameboy color and that would be a huge success too but still they didn't do it.

I played it years ago, it actually has a very complex pet leveling system. Looks simple, till you really start getting into it. Idk how good the game is anymore, but it was fun for a while a few years ago. Very repetitive though.

Ether Saga is also Pokemonish. Or you could try playing a Veno in Perfect World, gluck camping rare pets...

Don't you think creating your own character in a realistic world with mythical creatures you can capture and train is fun?  I played the Pokemon games to death when I had a game boy.

Plus Pokemon's battle system would fit so well with 'Duels' in MMO's, then there is stadiums to showcase your ultimate team.

Personally, I'd love to see it happen.

This is a little unfair.  People play games for different reasons.  Not everyone wants the typical hack'n'slash type of game that is so popular. 

I am a firm believer in the idea that more people, girl's especially, would game if everyone was a little more open minded about what is worth playing and what isn't.  Ultimately, just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's a bad concept.  In my opinion, the world of MMO's could use a little new blood and some fresh ideas anyway.

 I would only play it if Guilds could create their own Gyms and customize badges and they allowed player run leagues.

That would be awesome.

That would be incredible.  I'd simply love to have that 'new experience' feel I got the first time I booted up a Pokemon game, and then be able to share that world with other people.

It would also be great if there were some mini games in the MMO based on past Pokemon games, such as being able to photograph wild Pokemon with a camera, similar to Pokemon Snap.

The IP has so much potential in the MMO world, and millions would sign up to play.

I still follow the story and i want to play a 2d mmorpg! However i want it to be a sandbox and not a game that's solely about leveling pokemons
