The October newsletter for Mortal Online reveals a number of new additions to the game's closed beta test. The ability to tame and ride mounts, as well as build your own home have been introduced to the beta with this Monday's patch. The newsletter also mentions that they have opened the beta test pool to another 10,000 testers. This was made possible largely due to a host of performance fixes, including the implementation of the "MassiveLOD" system. For the full October newsletter, go here. Michael "MikeB" Bitton |

Finding and taming mounts sounds awesome. Can you tame any larger animal or is there only a certain set of animals you can tame? Current: None |

You can tame any animal. Some are easier and others harder - it is a matter of skill. You can give them commands to aid you in battle or to simply be your companion. Theoretically you can tame a dragon, but the skill requirement is expected to be extremely high. It would seem that the easiest animals to train will be mounts. |

They even post their beta patch notes so everyone can read them, still people complain about lack of information? Dont think I have ever seen such an open MMO devolepment. If WoW = The Beatles |

Beta is coming along just fine. The patch notes tell exactly what is going on. Systems being implemented into the Beta are real, not Vaporware. There is tons of information on the MO forums if you simply try looking. And of course not a lot has been said about CLOSED BETA details. CB has only been going on for a couple of months. Major updates such as the housing, taming, and riding have just started being tested. NDA is very much in effect, which is why not many details have been told yet. I remember MANY people saying Darkfall was vaporware for the same reasons, lack of information. The difference was that Darkfall was in 'Beta' for years, not months. Our spirit was here long before you Long before us And long will it be after your pride brings you to your end |
