Completely fine and understandable. But then just say so when reviewing the game and be honest. This youtube review is clearly someone that doesn't like these type of games and is more like the WoW, EQ2, LOTRO type of player who likes to be spoonfed and handholded all the way through the game. So he hardly played the game, had no clue what he was doing or what the whole game was about even. Didn't even bother to figure it out either. And then starts reviewing this game. It's the same that I would go to a Ferrari car factory. Not knowing anything about car mechanics, design, etc... look around for 30 minutes in said factory and then start a indepth review of the Ferrari factory, it's cars and mechanics. I would make a complete tool out of myself. Become the joke on the internet. Pretty much like this Youtube reviewer. Cheers |

As a production student, that video was terribly done with absolutely no focus at all. The audio was shit for the one guy who mumbled a lot and they used a lot of the same clips over and over again, which shows they spent no time actually gathering material OR they already created a script and couldn't find the in-game footage to match their scripts. Which means, A) either they didn't play long or B) they came into the game with a pre-concieved notion and still went with it despite the lack of evidence or footage to further their point. Bad job, bad job. |

Only about 3 bugs which happened to me in tutorial lol... And if you say fun begins at higher level, I say game is bad made as you should enjoy it from beginning. It is a negative review, that does not jibe with all the fans so OF COURSE it is wrong.
Just sayin... That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming! |

It's not about being a negative review. It's about these guys being completely clueless and didn't even bother to actually trying to figure things out and how and why things and mechanics work that way. Some Examples: * They were saying that salvaging is boring and pointless and just a stupid grind. Appearently they had no clue that salvaging items gives you the materials you need for one of the games main features: CRAFTING! * They were saying that range combat didn't work and that most oponents were just as fast as you are. This made me even more laugh, especially since they kept compairing this game with WoW. Well, let it happened to be me having played a hunter in WoW for over 2 years. These guys don't have a single clue how to play ranged combat. What kiting means. And how you can keep mobs on a distance. Just hilarious. * They were saying that quests were nothing more then a concealed grind. This made me threw up my coffee and made me wonder if they ever played any MMO or RPG game at all. Or even WoW itself, as they so happily kept compairing with. As ofcourse quests / missions are a concealed grind to get XP. EVERYONE knows that. It's at least more fun for the majority of us, then just mindlessly grinding the same mobs over and over to level up. And in Fallen Earth, a lot of the mission chains in various towns are very well designed and mini stories on itself. Very fun to do. And there are so many more hilarious and clueless comments in that video. It's a joke. Nothing more and nothing less. If there was one single point I could completely agree on, then it's the landscapes. Those are indeed a bit dissapointing and I hope ICARUS will improve them over time. They already did during Beta. The difference between Friend & Family alpha and now in live is like night and day. So it can hopefully only get better, when they optimise their game engine more. But the comment about tools like SpeedTree blew even that comment completely out of the water and made them look like complete ingorant fools! As it's a well known fact, that SpeedTree isn't really a good tool to use for zone design in MMO games, because it's too much of a resource hog! And especially if you want to have large zones or a seamless gameworld. That's why hardly any MMO company uses tools like SpeedTree at all. SpeedTree is mostly used for CGI in movies! I was almost waiting for them to mention tools like Vue as well to make the joke complete. Cheers |

Once they said FE was a WoW clone with Fallout 3 representation, I knew we were in for a ride. What this review says is: If your a World of Warcraft player, you may not like the game. Also this was a level 1 to level 7 review of Fallen Earth I noticed and stated that they only put in about 10 hours of gameplay in. They disabled their reviewer comments on their you tube site, a few players managed to get their comments in before they disabled it. Well anyways, looking at their you tube channel, all they had reviewed was Mount and Blade and had some other random videos. Talk about having huge credibility here on reviewing mmorpgs games. |

Well obviously when someone says it's a WOW clone has no clue, but is a Fallout look see,it is suppose to be lol. However i never put much playtime into the game either ,and i feel i am fully qualified to give a review ,probably more so than someone who plays 500 hours and knows nothing about game design. The actual fact about FE is you will know every mechanic by level 1,there is no intrigue to this game or secret formula for success,it is all laid out as soon as you enter the world. There is so little content outside "the box" that really you do not need to play many hours at all to judge this games quality or weather or not you should stick around. I might put it on the line right away, crafting is the bread and butter of this game, and you will not need any play time to figure it out or judge how good it is.For myself ,it is done VERY poorly, the "bare bones" i like to call it,so to take your best aspect of the game and do it so poorly, does not do the rest of the game justice. The reason for playing a game is........"to play the game",not have it play itself,i would think that is not only reasonable but should be obvious. If you want to lay out the good points that keep you interested in a game, that is great, others might want to hear of those points, maybe they might want to play that game. However ,when giving a review you have to look at ALL the game,NOT just the bias parts, you think are good enough to qualify a 9/10 review, witch is what i see a LOT from reviews. Here is how i judge any given aspect or mechanic in a game.If a game outright repeats or copies ideas that we have seen a million times,it gets a 5 or 6 if it is at least an idea that is warranted to copy. Then from there i decide if the idea was done better ,if it is done better it warrants scores in the 7/8/9 depending how much more effort and in depth the design is.If it takes the exact same copied idea and dumb it down even further to where it is so simplified a 3 year old could do it,the score MUST drop off, depending of course if the idea NEEDED to be watered down.In other words you need to use common sense, outside of the fact that something is done the way you like it ,therefore it gets a 9.5/10. The common sense part comes into play more so than you think,i mean if someone ,wanted to open a game ,install it and get instant max level, all the game gold they need and their player is the most o/p player in the game, that person probably would say, this is great, the game gets a 9/10.However common sense tells us no,that is a retarded design and should be rated a 0/10.So again this shows how playing for 500 hours or 10 hours ,common sense will weigh a MUCH larger factor than playtime. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

My guess is they lied about ever reaching level 7, why not they made the rest of it up anyway right. Who needs to work for level 7 when you can use the same 3 clips over and over to support you love of WoW? Too bad Icarus can't sue them for 'lost subs' caused by their lies. Would be great to have them start their life in the media with a $100,000 fine to pay off. I really hate how people think just because they are on the net that they can't be held accountable for their actions. (DISCLAIMER - The use of the word YOU in the above post is not directed at any one person in particular, but towards those who fall into the category itself - there is no personal attack here, neither intentional nor implied.) |

That's because these asshats hide behind their anonimity and think they can just do whatever they like and get away with it. That's current day internet and it will only get worse and worse. The fact, that they have so much faith in their wonderful review that they locked the video from comments and being rated says enough really. Cheers |

They compaired several features of FE (like salvaging (wich should be scavenging)) and say that WoW has them too and does it better. While WoW doesn't even have those features. Plus FE was already in Development way before Fallout 3. But nevermind on that. It's just funny that these guys kept constantly compairing FE with WoW and bashing it as a WoW clone, while they clearly never even played WoW itself. |

Not just that, its the fact they are saying it is a Fallout clone as well. I guess it is just me, but this game has more of a Road Warrior/Mad Max. Fallout isnt the only post apoc setting out there |

To Mordrid, I agree, its more of a Mad Max Trilogy PA setting. I have played Fallout 3 as well and FE just gives off a different type of atmosphere to me. Anyways... Not to sidetrack this post intentionally, the new mmo coming out on the horizon called Earthrise reminds me of Tabula Rasa. I hear the game will be PvP centric, but it does look more futuristic, maybe because there are creatures that look like aliens from another world. |

I have been watching Earthrise and it does remind me of Tabula Rasa, which I like because I thought it had much potential |
