Haha, Aion is by far dull and boring. I play Aion and have hella fun with my g/f. Most log in and expect everything handed to them on a platter like their used to. Ask the folks playing that don't post on this website....ah ya their ingame. Go figure... "Mom, I play Tera for the gameplay I swear!!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-2paFdRw_U |

If your bored already quit, its not going to change. You fell into the hype and expected too much, just like sooo many others. Aion is by far the best pvp MMO out right now imo. Hands down "Aion is by far the best pvp MMO out right now imo. Hands down" Thank you. And a big reason (not the only) it is one of the best pvp MMOs out is because, IMO they have the most (by far) PvE to offer for a PvP MMO. |

Originally posted by Yamota The PvP is actually the reason I got this game as PvE very rarely interests me. However the PvE is mind-nimbingly boring, same sequence of powers to kill a mob and I need to kill over 300 to level. 300 times pressing the same sequence of keys over and over.... I tried killing some elite mobs and that gave me some challenge but since the amount of powers are so limited (atleast at my level) all the fights pretty much looked the same. So what I am hoping for is that the PvP is much more fun than the PvE so that it keeps me interested enough to keep me leveling. Mainly I wonder if the PvP has any meaning, i.e. taking over, or losing, fortresses actually mean something and is not like hit back and forth like a volleyball between the factions. As for getting ganked by higher level players, I dont have a problem with that at all. What I have a problem with is no meaning/purposless PvP that is all about ganking and has no greater goal than "killing other players".
hmmm, well that's a hard one to answer but I'll try. I do think the pvp has meaning in that controlling artifacts give your side certain buffs as well as help your side in sieges. I thought the siege I was in was very enjoyable so to me that is meaning enough. I do know that the controlling legion has access to a special dungeon with its own rewards. Also, killing players gives you abyss points. Abyss points can be redeemed for better gear, potions, etc. And of course there is a ladder system where the top players on the ladder get benefits. I enjoy the pvp quite a bit, even if outmatched by a few higher levels against my lowly lvl 30 or the level 32. I had to cut back on game play time due to some real life things that need attending but all in all I find that leveling is very easy. Then again my characters are sorcerors. I don't grind elites except in groups as the xp is bad. There is a difference between xp per kill and xp over time. for some reason some players are still hung up over getting more xp per kill, even if it takes longer to accomplish that kill, and it gives you downtime. As far as playing the same skills over and over, I do that on my guardian in LOTRO so I really see no difference. However against players you won't set a macro to do your retinue of skills in sequence.

ok. but please bear in mind that if you are not part of an active legion or running with a group then it might not. I am a firm believer that whatever you do in life, you don't set yourself up to fail from the beginning. If your legion is not going into the abyss on a regular basis and this is somethign that you want to do you need to find a group that does. |

You are the one who might as well call it quits right now. When you decide which toon you want I will be amazed if you stick with the game till your character is 40, forget about even getting near 50 unless you plan to just run a bot. Played a chanter to 40 just an fyi(no bot) and had absolutely no expectations for this game as I was just playing because my friends all were, but they all quit before I did even lol. |
