Been only playing for a week and level 23 with my Sorceror but already bored out of my mind. Does the game really open up at level 25 or is that just marketing hype? |

I say you call it quits now. You were expecting too much out of Aion unfortionately. I went in with no expectations and I'm having a blast. Currently three level 30 toons and plan on rolling a new one this week. Once I have 4-5 at 30 I plan to make the choice of which to make my main PVPer and main PVEer and the real fun begins.

Just a marketing hype, unfortunately. I had to quit myself a while ago - It couldn't keep me interested. The game isn't for everyone.

Because mmorpg games are so predicatable and dull at this point for a lot of veteran players that the only way one can enjoy it is to have no expectations thus when they find a mediocre or decent game its a success at least in some peoples mind. |

i'm level 39 and called it quits, you kinda get the just of leveling in this game when you do the first krall quests for elyos not sure what its called for asmos.
when i was in my 20's i was still playing with friends and still thought the game was ok. I have no idea what 50 is like, but i found the journey to get to 50 extremely boring. My advice for you is to try to get to at least 33 thats when most classes begin to become "fun" i know it did for my assasin at least. |

When researching Aion, everything about it bored me. Another cookie-cutter, disposable MMO to add to the list. This genre is in the midst of an identity crisis. |

I personally enjoy finding enemies coming through the rifts or running in a group and finding targets to fight. And though I've only been in one siege I really enjoyed it. So the question is not whether the game opens up at 25 but whether or not the additons in gameplay at 25 are your cup of tea. |

Amazing how ignorant and simple minded people are. Even more amazing how eager those people are to let the rest of the world know it. If I were to present an argument on behalf of Ethian I would compare it to a movie that has generated alot of buzz and everyone is talking about. How many times have you finally decided to go see for yourself what all the buzz is about, going in with huge expectations only to be dissapointed ? Right. People say this about going to the movies all the time -- "I dont pay attention to the buzz, I go in to see the movie with no expectations and decide on my own." It is beyond easy making some of you look like fools. It isnt even rewarding anymore. Still kinda fun tho. But it is simple jack easy -- kinda like wow.

The PvP is actually the reason I got this game as PvE very rarely interests me. However the PvE is mind-nimbingly boring, same sequence of powers to kill a mob and I need to kill over 300 to level. 300 times pressing the same sequence of keys over and over.... I tried killing some elite mobs and that gave me some challenge but since the amount of powers are so limited (atleast at my level) all the fights pretty much looked the same. So what I am hoping for is that the PvP is much more fun than the PvE so that it keeps me interested enough to keep me leveling. Mainly I wonder if the PvP has any meaning, i.e. taking over, or losing, fortresses actually mean something and is not like hit back and forth like a volleyball between the factions. As for getting ganked by higher level players, I dont have a problem with that at all. What I have a problem with is no meaning/purposless PvP that is all about ganking and has no greater goal than "killing other players". |
