REALLY? I went into it skeptically because of your comment, but after watching the video, reading the site, and looking at screen shots. It really does look like a really cheap crappy version of EVE, like a almost a direct clone with a little bit brighter model skins. What did you do? Just look at the title or something?

Id be as bold to say that its not like EVE. Sure its space, spaceships and it looks pretty damn similar. EVE is made by its community, diplomacy, piracy and economy. I really doubt a bad eastern rip-off is going to manage anything near the same just by spicing up the graphics.

Add things like free to play and an item-mall to EVE online, take away the single server aspect and have it on lots of smaller servers lke most MMORPG's (im assuming the people running it won't go for the single server technology cos of the cost.) and you have something which is never going to be anything like EVE, its just going to be a poor failure.

Screenshot and info wise though, you are entirely right, looks like a complete ripoff.

That game looks better than Eve.

It looks nothing like EVE at all. You can easily tell just by watching the actual gameplay footage in the video, not just the graphics. it's clear it is more of an action mmorpg than a tactical mmorpg like EVE.

It looks nothing like EVE at all. You can easily tell just by watching the actual gameplay footage in the video, not just the graphics. it's clear it is more of an action mmorpg than a tactical mmorpg like EVE.

 

It looks like they are auto-shooting to me. I see no crosshairs and the camera isn't even behind the ship when it's shooting straight in one part.

So, what part are you talking about?

It's by the same people who make WarRock... so I'm not even going to download it and try it out. ;)

The reason you don't see any crosshairs is because the entire HUD is disabled. Very common for mmorpg trailers.

You can see by the movement that it is WASD controlled, or at least not point and click like in EVE.

I see what you're saying now and there are crosshairs in the last few seconds. Still looks alot like EVE though, that company likes to rip off games and put their own spin on things..... still not downloading it and trying it because like I said before.... they are the same people who made WarRock.

Looks more like Jumpgate Evolution to me.

I just looked up a gameplay video of it on Youtube and it seems I was wrong. It doesn't rely on WASD, at least not entirely as you can change your aiming and direction of your ship with the mouse.

If you move the cursor to the left, the ship will fly in that direction, move it to the right and it will fly in that direction.
You do actually get to aim and shoot. The game looks surprisingly good.

At least thats what I assume after watching gameplay videos.

I think it's more of action arcade shooter than a tactical simulator like EVE.

It's definately not auto-aim combat cause you can tell when the ships are shooting streams of bullets/lasers it's streaming, as in it moves in the direction of the front of the ship and not from an independent weapon system. Aside from that, I'd call it a Jumpgate Evolution clone and not an Eve Online clone.

Than again, it's free, so it really doesn't matter.

Also just a heads up to people who think it's an eastern game, it's not. It's actually a game from Brazil.

I played it. Don't remember much about it, since it was a while ago, besides the fact that I didn't like it.
