For me, the gates will open.

I posted this on the forums at aiononline.com, and those who were with me when the game was coming out, let me know if this is accurate with how you feel.

" I tried I really did, but apparently NCSoft hasn't learned its lesson from Lineage 2 and I'm not going to support a company that is going to enforce its TOS the same way Texas enforces oral sex.

I'm going back to WAR, and hey to those that left, it still says Mythic on it, but Bioware is in control of Mythic, and all the decision makers have been fired, competent people in their place, and they have been beating the crap out of order with the nerf bat getting the game back to some semblence of balance, and you can get 10 days with your old account free if you've been gone for more than 60 days.

but back to NCSoft, I never seen a company REPEATIDLY care less about their customers. In game support is next to non existant, no one moderates the forums, or replies, and the only time something is pulled is when someone writes the same emo quit post 10 times in a row. and when you quit, you don't even get the little survey that asks why, it just says you h ave till x time to play, cause NCSoft doesn't care about us, we are just a number, a very quickly declining number.

I though you wanted to compete with WoW NCSoft, you wanted to be a solid number 2 inAmerica, good luck with that. the large number of players in US don't want to compete with cheaters, and we get attitudes when we have to. Cause when we play a game, its just that, we PLAY a GAME, its not work, its not our life, go read about how many people fall over dead at internet cafe's in america cause of lack of food and water. In America. Now look at the number in Korea.

I logged in the past couple of nights and walked around Pandamonium, man it was quite, so was global chat, like lots of people have decided not to play, I'm sure its nothing you did though NCSoft, your actions are all benevolent, and right, and no action you take could possibly lead to a mistake.

This makes me sad cause this game failed so hard, epic fail, and the only reason they it failed as bad as it did, was because of all the potential it had. it really could have competed with WoW, but seriously, you can make the best MMO out there, and with no customer support....you don't keep customers. name of the game in this market is customer retention.

I'm not giving NCSoft another chance on another game, I might come looking at this game again in a year, just to see if the economy is as bad as in Lineage 2, and if half the remaining subs are botters, where the first half of the game is empty, and no new players can get in because its so top heavy and the economy is so bad that new players can't afford making a toon without buying Kinah, cause level 12 whites are 600,000k.

Good job NCSoft you made a good game, to bad you have the IQ of a broken eggbeater, and can't learn from your mistakes, thats why you'll never be Blizzard, or EA, companies that know when they make a mistake. Take responsibility, and fix it.

End rant, and sub. "

Also note, I was a hardcore WAR hater, but I will totally say that the game is being turned around, and deserves a second chance, wait two more patches and the playing field will be level.

I do agree with your assessment of Aion, however if its true that Bioware has taken control of Warhammer they would have to do some PERFORMANCE tweaking on a MASSIVE level for me to EVER CONSIDER going back to that game.  Was tired of lagging the fuck out even on the lowest settings, and it is not my PC I didn't even have the lag issues with AoC that I did with Warhammer. Lmao.

I don't feel the same way you do.

The only problem I am having with Aion is trying to decide if I want my Gladiator (currently 34) or my Chanter (currently 19) to be the main I level up to 50.

Oh and I want a plastic surgery ticket ASAP.

Other than that, everything is groovy for me in Aion land.

Thats what most of the last patch was, they made some serious improvements to performance, go watch the podcast about it on warhammeronline, its not just bug fixes its a way of doing things that will also improve the performance of UO and DAoC, and likewise I'm sure TOR will benifit from it too, also Crowd control was addressed in this recent patch and hit hard.

Do I feel the same? I would have to answer no. I'm still having a good time though not as much as when I first started. My server seems just as busy  as ever. I started a alt yesterday and the newbie area had characters all over the place. Good Luck with War I left that game after the first 30 days. I came back after a few months and left again after 30 days. If you want to talk about empty that was War in the starting areas when I came back.

Still having a good time with Aion. Sever activity is still pretty high even at pretty odd hours. I personally just play the game, do my stuff, and walk past the botters, haven't had to wait for mob spawns or anything. The economy is up and down, but it's not insanely crazy, just work with it.

I'll be with Aion for a while, at least till TERA.

I also wouldn't resub to WAR, or even bother with 10 free days, if you put a gun to my head. But that's just me.

There is a lot of truth in what you are writing, since after all the speculation the result of the Mythic and Bioware merger by EA is that it is being run by Bioware people at the top, and possibly all the way through now. As someone who played WAR at launch through to its dissapointing conclusion of RvR end-game this reads like a real step forward for the game, if anyone can patch it into a great RvR game then Bioware would be a great candidate to do so. More-to-the-point, it is a Western-style PvP game, so I think it a much better direction for players to go from Euro/NA than Aion now for long-term game fun.

1 - BioWare has no previous experience with MMOs.

2 - BioWare has no previous experience with RvR

3 - BioWare has its own huge IP MMO in development

I see no BioWare stake in fixing Warhammer.

Yeah aside from the fact that TOR republic will more than likely have a WAR between Jedi and Sith. Bioware would have no interest in working on a two faction PvP based game, as a testing ground to figure out things like balance, all the while having a fantasy IP that will generate revenue by people not interested in the Sci-Fi, aspect.

Bioware is just completely and utterly having no stake in the success of this game, you sir are absolutly correct.

Not to mention that taking over a running mmo is in no shape form or fashion good experience for designing one.

Yeah I cancelled too.  It's a shame because the game had soo much potential.  No more NCSoft games for me (except GW2 which really is run by Arena).

WAR is a perfect tool for them to experiment on and try out new MMO and PVP ideas. Bioware having another MMO in the works does not mean they will ignore WAR or not tinker with the idea of turning it around to ::gasp:: make it profitable ::gasp::. In fact it is a perfect testing vehicle to get their feet wet in the MMO genre when it comes to turning around a floundering MMO.

Furthermore experience MMO talent and leadership can and will be hired to help guide Bioware as a whole on their own MMO project along with WAR as has been seen already. The world is not as black and white as you would like to believe especially in the MMO and gaming industry.

Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.

Game(s) I Am Currently Playing:

GW2 (+LoL and BF3)

From what I remember, Mythic developers are still doing the actual work but someone from Bioware is calling the shots. I think someone in Bioware was promoted to the head of Mythic and someone else from Bioware was promoted to be the head of EA's MMO department, which is Bioware/Mythic.

Basically, Bioware devs are still working on their MMO and Mythic is working on their own but now competent people are actually making decisions, which can only mean good things for WAR.

Perfect tool?

A heavily PvP-oriented MMO with 24 classes using a different engine. Aside from being IP-based MMOs, the two games have almost nothing in common.

I am still playing aion and so are a lot of players.

Servers show the same status they had a few weeks ago , with only a few recommended .

My server Telemachus is packed with players even in low level areas , the next patch is going to make many improvements , ncsoft is listening to the playerbase.

Aion is a good polished solid game with nice pvp elements.

War i tried it for like 2 months and quit , post tier 2 the game was so boring i could not even logon.

Good luck with war anyway .

 I tried . . . twice.

Its a fun game, i just couldn't get over the candy-land graphics style.. Wow felt dirty compared to this..

It just felt plastic and silly to me, i couldn't get into it :(

I may try again soon, i had a similar problem with wow.

Highest level is only 19 src
