I started MMO's with AO back in the pre-shadowlands days(oh they were great!). I played WoW of course but never found any real depth with it, I have tried to play Eve, couldn't get into it. Vangaurd, Pirates of the burning Sea, LoTRO, I played the trials. I could not get into any. They all seemed so dated, and the same. Then I tried TCOS! I have been playing for the last 3 weeks and so far find that it really starts to grow on you. I love the skill deck and the fact that the game is a challenge to play. You will die, and I love the fact that there are consequences to death in this game(losing PeP). The quests are interesting and well written. It sometimes feels like you are playing a single player rpg the quests are so good. The atmosphere is great in the game, along with the music. If they support the game, and do minor tweaks and fixes I would glady pay to play this game. It has real potential. All I can say for anyone trying it for the first time is to not judge it as a failed game. Take your time and read the quests and learn the fantastic combat system. _____________________________________________________________________________________ |

Quests are indeed awesome in tcos, it's like in another level compared to other mmos (p2p ones aswell ofc). Only questing keeps me interested to play, and adding whole other stuff? :) I also like that pvp is skill based and it happens to fight vs other house players often even with not that high population and i just love that world pvp. Yes population isn't to high, but u can always find someone to quest with and to say that it's like single player is really wrong. Finding populated guild helps aswell, in my current guild there is up to 20ppl online so i don't feel that lack of population which the game has somehow. |

This is relly amazing game, the only bad thing in this game is that this game is not AMD and ATI friendly :/ you can have high end PC with ATI/ AMD hardware and you have 15 fps :/ hope they will release some patch in 2010 whne this game is redeveloped... |

I hope Gameguard really does work to keep lots of cheaters/hackers away. Because its shoddy design and lack of support just kept one potential legitimate customer away. <-----this guy Its my own fault though, I should know that if you don't pay for shit you should expect nothing more than shit. stuff and things |

I agree with the OP. I don't play nearly as much as I'd like, but this game has been a ton of fun IMO. The quests aren't just "go here, kill these" <--- if there is any one thing I pray MMO developers take from TCoS, it's the questing. The combat is GREAT! I'm a FPS fan and this game delivers an As far as MMOs go, this is one I would recommend to anyone. For FREE, you're a fool to not try it. No matter if you're a solo player or in a group, this game has something you'll enjoy. |

Thanks Op.. i'm so bored of mmo's right now.. i do the 29.99 for 3 months of lotro for free, so i can't "quit" or i lose the expansion.. but.. a f2p would be cool.. ddo i might do, but it's "meh" Any who, i came across this post.. and .. wth i'm going to down load it, a big fat THANK YOU to the op.. why not. My question is.. gear doesn't matter? That the fun part of playing these games is finding a cool drop! |

I must disagree that all games are just reskinned versions of WoW simply because they follow a "standard MMO" format. However, I really liked this game when I tried it, but stopped playing because I don't like f2p games (I hate item shops and micro-transaction games- I would rather pay a sub fee). A witty saying proves nothing. |

Ok the basics of gear doesnt really matter. There are collector sets out there that you can construct/find, so this isnt totally lost. Instead of gear itself theres a sigil system. These type of drops allow you to upgrade your gear by adding different effectiveness levels to it. So the game with gear is essentially the same, but different at the same time. |
