It depends on where you live and when you play. I live on the west coast and play late night. I almost never get to login because of the downtime of the login server. The Devs do not work 24/7 so you are out of luck if it goes down during your game play. As far as the game, it only has a sliver of the map with one race to test with. Most things are placeholders and not the actual launch build. So if you play at the right times and have a large chunck of time to craft for PvP. It can be fun for what it is at the moment. If you are looking for a new complete game. Just wait for launch and make up your mind then. “How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them?” |

A lot of stuff is still missing, and even more stuff needs work. If your looking for a polished bug free game this is not it and I dont think it will be at launch. If your looking for large scale territorial battles and guild warfare than I am not convinced this game will be better than Darkfall. ( IMO EVE is still THE game for territorial conquest and will be for a long time.) Lastly, if your looking for the UO vision ( A TRUE sandbox) with tons of potential, I would say yes this might just be your game. Like someone else has stated, rumor is the NDA will be lifted VERY soon... I would do a wait and see if its your thing or not. |

I would recommend preordering the game. You get the benefit of being able to beta test the game for a couple of months until it officially releases. I can tell you that the game is great. |

So far SV hasn't lied or even tried to conceal what they were doing. These pre-purchases were ADMITTED as a means to help them ease their budget along to make developing the game for longer well...easier. It's not hard to tell what they're doing with the beta right now since they post updates on the forums all the time. They said months ago that they have a fully enabled client ready, but that they will not be putting that client up to test since it made more sense to introduce parts of the game to the testing community rather than just lump everything out there all at once. Believe it or not this is usually standard practice. They had what was probably a really buggy, fully enabled client that they could have released with. Then we would have dealt with a second DF fiasco. Instead they can give the testers a stable(er) client, fix bugs, introduce more to the client, stabilize, and so on and forth. This is more or less the same thing Warhammer Online tried to do, but, and I can't stress this enough, BUT the major difference here is that SV doesn't have a publisher like EA breathing down their necks. All of us in the CB for WAR kept telling the devs that the game was NOT in a healthy release state, but they just ignored us. From everything I have heard from testers and seen myself SV is taking their time (because they can) and listening to the community (because that makes good business sense). I'm not saying MO is going to be great, but so far SV has at least shown me that there are dev studios out there that are skilled, professional and in-touch with the community. If nothing else those are three major pluses going for them. Also keep in mind that MO is going to be more or less like the UO of old. Take a look at the features list, the complete features list and decide for yourself if you like them. It's not 'perfect', but it's a very good start and more importantly doesn't try to do too much....we'll see. |

The game is really promising and I have lots of fun. I can't give any details but if you can accept it's beta and not a finish game with some bugs, I really recommend everyone to test it out. Lots of improvements lately. PS: A larger patch will come today. |

At release it will be worth it, but right now its in closed beta and they expect you to actually test the game. Also its not in a state where there are only a few minor bugs. They whipe characters every 2 weeks when they add major content updates. Stuff is broken the server crashes and such. The game is realy in testing and not just a pre-release hypefest. Its not in a try-before-you-buy phase. /dead horse beaten |
