Just a friendly reminder, if you pre-ordered the special ed of the game, your game time ends tomorrow (29th). I know many like me canceled (or plan to) over the bots, crashes...etc so don't lose another $15. The final straw for me was seeing a bot named Hkgfhgnb along with several other similar named bots that I reported over a week ago. Canceling is the only (and I will admit totally ineffective, NCSOFT will not care) protest I have. I will take a look again in about six months or so to see if the bot issue has been fixed (or at least been reduced greatly). NSSOFT history says that it will not. They have enough Asian subs to not care how many western subs cancel. Oh, by the way, when you cancel, they will not ask you the reason why. This should tell you something about how they feel about their customers.

I do agree the bots are a big problem, and effectively NCSoft is doing nothing, because i also see the same bots over and over again. Now, about the cancelation stuff. You say they dont ask you why.... do you honestly believe that other companys who put a why on the cancelation screen actually read it? lol Its just a thing thats there.... no one over the companys cares. Believe me, i know what i am saying.
Back to the main issue. The game is still crawling with bots and I honestly dont see them doing anything about it. Same with the damn crashes that are still going on and theres no telling when tis will be solved. Its a shame really... |

Actually, your game time ended on the 22nd. I got the CE day 1 with the headstart and that's when it finally canceled out. "Now, about the cancelation stuff. You say they dont ask you why.... do you honestly believe that other companys who put a why on the cancelation screen actually read it? lol Its just a thing thats there.... no one over the companys cares. Forgive me if I don't, because you don't know what you're saying. True, they dont "care" in that nobody is going to send you cookies and hope you feel better because you listed why you left. But they do in fact look at them because if they see 2,000 people quitting because "*same problem* sucks" then they usually get the hint and at least try to make some artificial band-aid addressing the problem to bring people back. Additionally, I've had one MMO I don't recall at the moment send me an e-mail saying "hey! You left because of "blahblahblah" and we'd like to let you know our latest patch changes that 8D!" Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts. EAT ME MMORPG.com! |

What about you makes it so that I should believe that you know what you are talking about when it comes to what companies do with their un-subscribe question(s)?
I think that Aion not having an exit question of any kind really does show how much they care about what unsatisfied players think. They think their opinion is worthless.

I cancelled my subscription less than an hour after I started playing, because Aion was obviously, even then, so bland, formulaic and uninspiring that they'd just copy-pasted chunks of already stale content from other MMOs. I made myself play for a couple of weeks, to see if I was missing anything new and exciting, but "new" and "exciting" are two concepts that don't exist in Aion. Even if it goes F2P - which is all it's worth - I wouldn't bother with it. |

I had a strong feeling this game was gonna follow the path of Lineage 2, glad I didn't invest in it. |

This is quite true. I know many people view MMO companies as just big, dumb, development studios who waste resources and make stupid decisions left and right, but that's a very narrow view of things. The truth is most companies (especially successful companies) do not like to waste resources. Putting in questionaires & such may seem like a really simple thing (and it is), but it does take time to implement, which means they are paying someone to do so. Not many companies would spend the time and money to implement something they do not think will benefit them, so having a questionaire really is a fairly good statement of their priorities. However, they do have an in-game survey, so perhaps once more people start leaving then they will start to ask why, lol. Too little too late, but w/e. |

Bad argument. Keeping up the illusion of caring about your customer is worth a lot of money, so it would make sense to pay someone to do a questionnaire on the off-chance it leaves a good impression, even if you dont read it. You think too simple. Not saying they read or dont read, as I am certain that no MMO Designer can react quickly enough to make it matter anyhow. |

I should know, I'm still logging on until my cancel takes effect and I'm still playing, leveling alts, so some of us have 29th cut offs. I'm not sure why you got screwed.

When you think about it has NCsoft ever made a mmo that suited the NA/EU crowd ? COH/COV was made by Cryptic and Guild Wars is made by Arenanet. It should tell you right then and there that their focus has always been elsewhere. So them losing customers in area which is not the primarty focus is no big deal to them. Ofcourse they will tell you otherwise but thats the politically correct thing to do. |

With such open minded people on all quadrants of our society ^_^ You dont even ask for his reason to compare L2 to Aion. After all he doesnt mention what that 'path' is. So either you are prejudiced and think you know what he means without knowing for sure (prejudiced), or you simply dont know and dont care (closeminded). Aka pot meets kettle. Not to mention that your own passive aggressiveness answers your question about where all the hate in the world comes from. |

Alot of people fear (for some strange reason) a Korean game being this successful in the West. Aion's success has breed so many jealous people on these boards its really funny :)) GW2 the future of MMO gaming |

I'm not sure exactly what bots your talking about, and mind you I was totally on board the "the bots are the downfall of the game" train prior to the patch, but I see maybe one bot per login since the patch so you're going to have to elaborate a little more for me. |
