A new geological study suggests Western Washington might be situated on top of a giant lake of molten lava. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |

There isnt anything surprising about this. We have hundred of magma chambers covering the planet. They simply form when you have pockets the magma can seep up into. Yellowstone is a prime example of one you do have to watch out for. Were due in the next few hundred thousand years to have a eruption. Mind you the likelyhood of us being around is slim to nil. |

That and the fact that Yellow Stone is a massive volcano that will destroy everything in that part of the continent when it blows again.
Funny story, geologist knew for decades a volcano had to be around there, it wasn't until NASA took some its first satellite photos of the area then gave them to the scientist that they realized why they couln't find it. They whole place is. |

I wonder if it is connected to the Geothermal that is under Yellowstone Nat Park.I saw a NatGeo doc on that said pretty much when it goes Life within The USA will die within hours and would create a type of nuclear winter which would pretty much be a Life extinction event for everyone else on the planet with a month or so. |

Actually, if the Yellowstone caldera blows, all the magma and ash will blow eastward, devastating everything in the Eastern United States. Of course, that's just the immediate damage. That's not taking into account all the ash that will be blown into the atmosphere which will surround the entire planet and block out the sun, killing most life on earth. But at least those west of the volcano won't die quickly. Our deaths will be much more drawn out and agonizing. Yeah, that second story is pretty funny. My sides are in stitches just thinking about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |

Really with all of todays tech we couldnt last the time needed to outlast the crap that gets into the atmosphere? Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time. We probably don't have adaquette food supplies to last the year or so the dust would remain in the atmosphere with the current population. |

Be plenty of sprouts from plants growing for the first year or two, and cockroaches out the wazoo to grub on. After that yea, every man for himself. |

I doubt any of this stuff will actually do anything. I mean, the make of molten lava was always there, its not like now that we know about it were all suddenly going to die. |

Well all this better start happening soon because the way I see it, I'll be long dead before any of the actual rumbling starts and I'll miss out on the post apocalypse fun. And no, I don't want your stuff... unless it's a shotgun with ammo No required quests!
