I think it's my graphics card, which is an Radeon xpress 200m with omega drivers, even though I knew intergrated laptop cards were not suported it does have 256mb ram and had read on the FE forums that a few people could play it with there laptops with similar powerd cards, so thought it was worth a shot. Have intel dual core 1.8 and 2gigs of ram. Feel a bit selfish 4 taking a trial key on a hope but have wanted to play this game since I first heard of it beeing developed :) |

This is the exact type of info people need to judge the specs for the game. Thanks for the info, i hope to have a 4 system type review very soon. Thanks again |

1. Might be overheating, but I haven't had overheating issues with any other game I've tried. 2. No hardware upgrades recently. 3. The RAM is all good. When I'm not in XP (OSX instead), all 4GB are used.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try tonight after work.
That's just it though. I haven't had any issues with any other game, except FE. I'll try out the app you're suggesting though just in case. Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. Much appreciated! I'm going to keep hammering away at this until I figure it out. Current: None |

Well hot damn! I ran the game in windowed mode earlier and was able to play for half an hour without any crashing. I didn't have much time tonight, otherwise I would've played longer. Tomorrow evening I'll see if I can play for more than an hour. Thanks for the suggestion! Current: None |

The issue is back. :( And the way it's acting leads me to believe it really is my GPU overheating. At first I can play for around an hour or so before the game locks up. I restart the computer, log back in and this time it crashes after 15 minutes. And the fans are going full tilt when it locks up. I'm not sure why it's overheating. I'm not overclocking anything. I've got all the settings to as low as they can be and have disabled post FX/shadows/etc. I'm running it in windowed mode. I don't know what else to do, so for now I'm going to shelf the game and hope some future update helps with the problem. I really like the game. I was in the middle of crafting my horse when it locked up this last time. I'll try to get in a few more sessions before my trial runs out. Current: None |

Sounds like overheating to me too.
Safe thing to do is get a can of air (compressed air from walmart or a computer shop) and blow out the inside. Dust getting on the cards and fans inside can make the temps rise quite a bit. Blow off the cards and all the fans and exhaust ports. Make sure the computer is off and unplugged first:)
Less safe thing to do, is after blowing everything off and getting it clean if that does not fix issue. Take off side door to improve air flow. If that works, you just confirmed the heat issue, but it is not safe or a good thing to run it that way for long. You need to add fans or re run all the wiring inside to improve air flow to what is getting over heated.
Running the thing till it shuts down your computer will eventually burn out whatever is overheating if you do not fix the overheating issue. Good luck. |

Thing is it's a laptop. An Apple Macbook Pro at that. The thing's as tight as a cat's butt, so I'm not sure how to even crack it open. It's my work laptop that happens to be a gaming laptop on the side. So far it's been able to handle every other game I've thrown at it (LotRO, VG, CO, WAR, EQ2, Ryzom, CoS, EVE), but it's choking on FE for some reason. I'll eventually get a real gaming rig. The laptop is nice, but a dedicated gaming rig would be so much nicer. Current: None |

If its a laptop, get a laptop cooler, they are super cheap and sometimes they can drop the temp significantly. Make sure you aren't using the laptop on a bed, or have the vents blocked on it.

take a look at those, one is fairly expensive, the other, fairly cheap.. you can go to any nearby electronics store and get one for pretty cheap too.
I have a buddy who got one for 10 bucks and it worked like a charm for him!
Lemme know if that helps at all..... cheaper then buying a whole new comp! |

Does the OP have anything Overclocked?this can really be a major problem. I would not turn textures down ,the two things if i remember right were view distance made a big impact and so does shadows, and also the lighting effects, you don't really need those turned up. As far as memory leaks ,idk i have not played in awhile,so i can't speak for what has happened since the last patch. If there is memory leaks in the program, then everyone will have crashes.Of course those with more memory will have issues later than those with less.Do you perhaps run on only 2 mb?Another problem can be a Hard drive that is near full. I believe this game has a log file error report no?maybe see if you can look at that or ask Icarus about it.Bah sorry noticed you are running xp witch sees 2 mb.I will add that even though you may have extreme graphic lag at times, hard to believe ,i never noticed it,but if you did,it would still be very unlikely to cause a crash,so it is a problem on your system or a memory leak, witch at this point i cannot answer because i am not playing anymore. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

Ah a laptop, I was going to suggest leaving one of the sides open on your tower to help cool your rig. Sudden crashes and reboots like what your describing usually are a heating issue. |

It's not running on a bed. I've got it propped up on a stand to let the air flow around it more. No vents are blocked. I'll still look into the laptop coolers though.
Nothing is overclocked. Shadows and lighting effects are turned off. I've got the view distance slider almost all the way left. There's not much more I can do to lower the settings. BTW, the resolution I'm running the games at is 1920x1200, so that probably isn't helping anything. It's the native resolution of the monitor I'm using. I might try running the game on the laptop's screen itself to see if that helps at all. Smaller resolution and all... Current: None |

I keep the side off my Antec 900. Course, I have a "Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..." |

All you guys have to undestand who is doing the networking for Fallen Earth then you will understand why it lags and crashes. Unless you are using pc back from the dinosaur age then it isn't your pc. |
