I'm outta here. If I wanted to be forcefed conservative propaganda, I'd listen to Rush all day. The constant lies and misrepresentations from the right-wingers on this board have claimed another victim. I simply cannot bring myself to come to a forum where every word I post is twisted into a pretzel by the wingnuts. I'm just not a masochist. To the few non-wingnuts who haven't been run off yet by the constant smears and lies, best of luck to ya. So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. But I pressed on, and as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me. I don't know if it was divine intervention or the kinship of all living things, but I tell you, Jerry, at that moment ... I was a marine biologist. |

Political discussion have had their ups and downs, but they certainly reached an all time low the past few months. Propaganda is the correct term to describe a vocal group of the right wing posters here. There is no room for discussion anymore, no room for different opinions as you'll have an insult heading your way. Even some of the old conservative posters don't come anymore due to the disgusting attitude of a certain group of posters who dominate this section now. The time of interesting discussions has long past. I'm enjoying my time less and less here and I don't see myself posting in this section for much longer. It's only a matter of time before this section is only being used by people that are like Faxxer and Fishermage, only interested in spin, stereotype and above all, insulting anyone who doesn't agree. |

Right-wingers? Anyone who disagrees with you is a "right-winger". Half the people you're referring to are most likely libertarians. Just hang in there a little while longer. In a few months, Obama will have silenced all opposition and then you liberals can have this board all to yourselves. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |

Pretty much. People on these boards take themselves -too- fucking seriously. I'm surprised to see Zind say something so dumb, I thought that was reserved for Faxxer to believe ANYTHING could be meaningful about political discourse in the trashcan of a site about MMORPGs. That said, don't take anyone here seriously. At the end of the day, a lot of your progressive ideas have a lot more traction in our country due to the realities of absolute Democrat control of the government right now, combined with a continuously floundering Republican base (the 21% club just got even smaller). What the rightwing aggressors here have is...well this. This board. This is the only outlet for them since they themselves know no one anywhere else would listen to the type of vitriol bullshit that's repeated here on a daily basis. So, might aswell let them have it. |

I heard Obama finally approved the 40,000 troops for the surge...on FOX NEWS LMAO. Sorry I just couldn't resist. As to the OP I wish you the best and try not to take life so seriously. It's not like we are getting out of here alive anyways. In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect. |

Another guy with no sense of humor. Isn't it ironic that you give advice on not taking people too seriously when you appear to have trouble telling the difference between the two yourself? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |

kobie173. This place can be a little rough. We like it that way, because it means we don't have to hold anything back. We don't have to hold back the evidence. We don't have to hold back the arguments. We don't have to hold back the passion. We here can stand up for what we believe in and know to be true in here. It ain't easy at times. Just remember this though, kobie173. The types of arguments that go on in here aren't going to go away just because you are leaving. They are going to appear everywhere: at work, at school, at church, amongst your friends, and at the town meetings and the polls. And when that happens, are you going to go to the town meetings? Are you going to go to the polls? Are you going to post on the blogs? It's easy enough to walk away from those things, especially when we are met by a lot of hostility from people who are pressuring us to see things their way. In fact, they want you to walk away. That's why they argue like they do. As for the ones that are left, things will go on. I know I'm not leaving anytime soon. But I have to imagine that things will get so much harder for me now, because you just gave everybody here clear evidence that if they just keep on with the "constant lies and misrepresentations," they'll get results, and so they'll just come after us tenfold. Politics and rhetoric are like that. __________________________ "...when it comes to pimping EVE I have little restraints." This is their one and only outlet, unless there exists another cesspool on the internet akin to this particular forum section and I'm sure there's ten-thousand; which makes the stakes here even more insignificant. That's probably the most honest thing you've said today. I'm actually quite thankful for that admission! __________________________ "...when it comes to pimping EVE I have little restraints." Maybe it's because I sit in the Naperville and Elmhurst cafès with the Glenn Beck watchers and the Rush listeners, but I get this sort of thing all the time here. I mean, I study politics for a living, so maybe I just get it more than most. Still, I can't help but think it will get generally bad around election time. I mean, did you see those town halls? Do you see all the ruckus that goes on whenever Obama goes somewhere to make a speech? Something tells me that kind of thing is going to be coming to your door soon enough... ...That is, if they think it's working. __________________________ "...when it comes to pimping EVE I have little restraints." After I come to these boards I always have to close the page reminding myself that the conspiracy theory pushing righties here are the minority in the real world.
Nothing can be said anymore without someone saying something about what they think Obama will do. Not what he has done, or what he has said he will do. They just spit shit that they think he will do because they are afraid of him.
It's tiring, and I've thought of leaving these boards more than a few times, but have decided the better thing to do is to just ignore people like Fisher (although I do slip up now and then) who have no interest in actual discussion and only want to lecture. |

I consider these boards quite a deal uglier than those August town halls. Less ugly than Beck and Limbaugh even, considering most of the time when those two are quoted word for word here, an extra slathering of vitriol and personal attacks are usually tacked on. But I get what you're saying. As for the elections, I wholly await them. It's an opportunity for the right to either correct their behavior and learn to be honest and genuine when they're pitted in primaries against one another, or they'll get a chance to see their own ugliness turned upon themselves. The 2010 and 2012 Republican primaries will be very therapeutic for the right, and nation. |

Which admission would that be? That conservatives and liberals are capable of agreeing on some things? I'm sure it would be a lot easier if there weren't so much anger and hatred coming from the left. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |
