I know that it's actually a book, but Dune... It'd be a niche game certainly because of the way it should be made, but it could be quite awesome. It will probably never happen though. I can't really think of any movie franchises that haven't already been done that would make a good MMOG off the top of my head. I'll have to think more on it. 8) ------------------------- |

First quarter was ok, then it started skipping huge chunks and I can't really see how anyone who hadn't read the book could have possibly followed wtf was happening. I wouldn't say it wouldn't happen, you do know that Dune as the first RTS right? Major success there. I'm actually surprised a decent movie version hasn't been made yet, probably because it would have to be 3 or 4 hours long with a HUGE budget to make it right. www.imdb.com/title/tt0087182/ 1984 Disney. It's junk. I just watched it for the first time about a month ago. I could never get through the first part, but I read the book about 2yrs ago and finally picked it up. www.imdb.com/title/tt0142032/ SciFi Channel Mini-Series. Not too bad actually. Not great, suffers from the plague of all SciFi Channel movies though....... horrible acting. I'm surprised someone with a Fremen avatar didn't know about those! You should be ashamed.

The movies may have not been great but I'd love to see the Transformers as an MMO... also.. Harry Potter series, and the Chronicles of Narnia I think would both make good MMOs. |

Really- what is stopping this game from being made? I want Kurt Russell voice overs and ridiculous banter, alongside some kung-fu combat.

I'm really thinking Harry Potter is the shoe-in for most likely to be made MMO. It has insane MMO potential. I'm sure it wouldn't be done right, though. No use getting excited. |

I am also a big fan of the original Dune RTS... 8) ------------------------- |

I would do anything for a Chronicles of Narnia MMO. I'm not too sure how the game mechanics would go, but I've always wanted to visit Narnia. Since I can't get there though my wardrobe, I guess I'll have to settle for the next best thing; through my computer screen. And hey, some of the races there are especially interesting too. Like the mermaids! Though I've always envisioned Narnia to be more of a sandbox though, because I can't see it following a rigid class/profession structure. It would be a lot more relevant to the world itself if you could chose to specialise in what you wanted rather than simply following the class structure, something like EVE Online. Main characters: |

Firefly would make an awesome space-western based sandbox. For the themepark, I'm thinking zombies.Resident Evil, Land of the Dead. Instances where the goal isn't to get to the bottom, kill the boss and get the loot. It's just to get the hell out before you get dead. World needs a survival-horror MMO, I reckon. |

At any rate, now is the time for me to demand a Shadowrun movie so that I can then demand a Shadowrun MMO based on it. :)
Finally a voice of reason. Mullets for everyone |

Older series than firefly, but BABYLON 5 !!! (though maybe too old to get the hype needed/deserved). Then of course Harry Potter, though the hype is getting down, with thte last book being out for some years now and only a couple films to get out. But yes, it has potential, if played between the end of book 7 and the epilogue, or between chapter 1 and chapter 2 of book 1. Shadowrun, done right, could rock: technology AND magics (both academic and organic), a contemporary and dark setting with orcs, trolls, and elfs, the megacorps, the size of the world. Although I could also think of a couple comics that could be great, like Lanfeust or Donjon... |

- Constantine The ultimate war between good and evil on earth. - Underworld An eternal war between lycans and werewolves. - Transformers Humans, caught in the middle of a war between two machine races, battle for each side to tip the scales of balance in their favor. |

But most of all I would like a Bladerunner game, to be honost any genre would do if they could get the right feel of Bladerunner, but a MMORPG......for me that would just "hopefully...depending how it would turn out" be a dream game. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

I'd love to play a faithful Cthulhu mythos mmo, but it's probably still has to many IP obstacles to make that happen. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy mmo would be interesting. A Gravity's Rainbow would be intellectually provocative. A mmo based on some of the Philip K Dick SciFi books has been mentioned above and would be a great universe to base a game on. |
