Ever read European comics? Moebius, Enki Bilal, or Mézières? (See my avatar for a tiny sample of Bilal's work) I'm seeing a huge European comics influence on this game's visual design. Not too surprising, given that the developing company is also European. Unlike the USA, much of Europe regards comics as a legitimate art form, hence people don't call anything stylized "cartoony". So this should probably be defined as "stylized" or even "artful" :) |

It has a "WoW" feeling to it? I don't understand how everything stylized looks like WoW to people on this forum.

I never played TR myself, but from what I hear the combat system was the best part. The only reason it failed was that NCSoft didn't give it the time to fix a few issues and add more content. |

They will also not appreciate it as much as other people will. Personally I like the design. It has a really futuristic/realistic feel to it and yet keeps the animated/cartoon feel to it. Also for the design of the gun. Who knows what kind of design is needed for laser guns. How big do they have to be to keep the gun from over heating or for the battery. Realistic speaking have you ever seen the guns of the future? |

Character faces look a bit... "baby-face"...? But over all the graphics looks nice. With good animations this will be very nice indeed. If the animations sucks... lets just say we hope not... :)
I would have liked a more realistic art style myself, like Battlefield 2142, or any "near future" art style. But I can get used to this as well.
Good job. Now dont fuck up the combat system and the animations... Please. |
