FWIW I think they handled many things very well. I am glad they did not open up too many servers, goldspam is down to a minimum, no queues - what else do you need? |

Queues? What Queues? I had one 12 minute queue on the second day of release and that has been the only one. To me, the bot and gold spamming issue was NCsoft's biggest problem and they have done pretty good at limiting the spam this week. But queues? Nah... maybe over in Euro land, but not here in the US. |

However I realize Queue's are a necessary evil on release date of these games because a higher than average percentage of the population want to play. If 60% of the entire subscriber base were to try and play today at the same time there would be queue's and that is what happened first week. However queue's don't matter anymore, they are very rare and a non issue. The problem solved itself with time. |

State your server or BS. The problem with the preselect/head start/early launch with queues was that people who had made a home on a server, wanted to play with friends, or follow a guild got screwed. I joined the preselect 3 hours late due to work, i was locked out of every server i had previously played on. WHen launch started, the servers i had made a character on where locked out for hours. The only options were make an eylos, which i had played in beta and didnt like, or roll an asmode on a server that would surely be dead after the first months usual player dropout. Once you got on to a server, anyone with half a brain stayed loggin in with a player shop open, not wanting to risk having 3 out of the 4 hours you can play spent in line. This made the situation much worse. I am describing the US release not the euro. Perhaps you play off peak american hours. Most of us see new releases with major content and bug/glitch problems and the main issue. Aion was a year onld by the time it released here, so the only problems were NCSofts D- effort to employ strict faction balancing instead of letting some servers be naturally faction dominant, while other balanced on their own. Now a month later, the issues are personal tastes, such as grind tolerance, and people getting sick and tired of the insane lag and constant disconnects during fortress seiges. Sure it might be my ISP, however i had no lag issues at launch, while a lot did. Bots and gold spam in an NCSoft game? Really did anyone not see this comming. I love the GM bot. Spamming in yellow across my whole screen all day...even the GM's are bots that spam. While most games will have bots and spam, i havent seen it so in your face and rampantly tolerated since my foray into f2p's a while back. Now they scramble the farmers msg, so they stick to player shops with their spam msg as the shop title. Bots are still everywhere, blatantly Its got its issues, but if they can tackel this seige lag and client crashes they game would be much more enjoyable. The abyss is still tons of fun however.
Also, it appears ive been hacked =( might be goodbye for good for me. |

Never said it was. I was just relating my relatively trouble free service. In fact, since I have read that Europe was having queue issues, I mentioned that fact. The the OP needs to specify which part of NCsoft he is speaking about. The US and Europe are with different subsidiaries of NCsoft, so it is possible the one in Europe is being swamped with queues, but the US is not. As it is, you just seem to be trying to use this post as an excuse to bash the US, as is so popular with some people in Europe. |
