I agree! We don't disagree. Ah, message boards are the most fun when people stop arguing about the topic and start arguing about the argument! :P Humor softens everything. That's why I like it so much. Inside and outside of humor, words like Nazi, fascism, socialism, racism get used far too often, and they lose their meaning. I think we're on the same page, there. |

Sometimes the GMs can do a better job at being nice. Yesterday I got stuck in a perpetual scavenging animation. I should've just logged out and logged in, but I opened a GM ticket and was promptly killed by a GM. I wasn't given any explanation or anything. Just killed. I had to walk kind of a long way back (no mount yet). It's not a big deal, but I'd at least appreciate a "Hey, the only way to get you out of the animation is to kill you. Sorry about this!" |

You can also use 'c' for crouch to get out of it, I believe. Depends on the actual bug. That was kind of choady of the GM to do that, as they could have teleported you and such, but it could be explained by busy-ness and such. There are definately nicer GM's than others, as in all games and I wish the standard was a bit more....well, 'standard'. Also, to the OP, if you are getting muted/banned, then it might behoove you to look at how you're trying to ask/discuss the issue. I doubt simply asking about the issue will result in this, as I get by with a lot of stuff and haven't been muted/banned yet. |

Two pages of posts and the question has yet to be asked. What bug did you report that got you muted and banned?
As you incredibly fail to mention this in your OP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Without knowing that what do you expect the public to say? |

Where I work, sometimes people get out of hand and start swearing and behaving inappropriately. Then they go and file a formal complaint and suddenly they can communicate without using expletivies. It's amazing! Suddenly they are not rude, abrasive, insulting....but victims who were wronged without provocation. Yeah right.
Also, as a german american, seeing the nazi term thrown around casually is really insulting. I've been called a nazi before because at work I am a stickler for details. My job demands it. I think it's really offensive, especially since my family fought the nazis in WW2. |

I just wanna beat some sense into those people throwing the 'Nazi' word around, it does envoke feelings in a number of people, especially in Europe. You never see Americans throwing around the N-word when it comes to ethnicity, but the same people have no problems using the N-word as it relates to politics. Unfortunately, many suffer from cultural relativism, ethnocentricity, and a general lack of history when it comes to this :/ |

Words only have the meaning you attribute to them. If you're offended by words, it's your fault - not someone else's. |

The thing about Nazis is that they killed the Jews. Perhaps if they killed Ukranians, Native Americans, Africans, or Bosnians they might not be so reviled. If you miss the references to any of those, then check out Josef Stalin, United States history in the 1800's, Darfur/Rwanda, or the Serbian campaign in 92-95. Simple history. The nazis were hardly the first to practice genocide on a large scale and they certainly haven't been the last, and yet they are the most reviled and widely known. I suppose it just depends on what one has to offer the people who write the history books.
As far as the OP, there's two sides to every story and his side is heavily biased and doesn't make much sense. |

This is pretty much it. The Romans were Nazis in all but politics yet for some reason their name and culture is not synonymous with genocide and slavery. The Nazis derived their infamy from 20th Century events along with on going historical and pop culture awareness in the western world. Just like how recent generations of Chinese are very well aware of the Japanese war crimes while failing the register that their ancestors has inflicted the same crimes upon the rest of Asian once upon a time. As such the term Nazi is emotionally loaded. |

Not quite. The Nazis killed nearly everyone. Gypsies, Jews, homosexuals, people with physical and mental handicaps, the list goes on and on. Lined up and shot or sent to concentration camps. Stalin killed his own citizens without regard to any race, creed, color or political affiliation. He was a paranoid bastard. Darfur/Rwanda and Serbia were and are all long running civil wars alnog tribal lines. Not at all the same as the Nazis eugenics mania. It's true. The mods are out of control in this mmo. They mute players and give them forum bans for talking about certain bugs. I think part of the reason is they are trying to put a coat of whitewash on this turd for when the free trials start. I really wish I would have waited to play this game with he free trials. Instead like a chump I bought it and was muted for talking about the AP exploit. When I tried to take it to the forums hoping to get around the in-game gm's I found all of my threads deleted and then I got a forum ban. For a game with a mature rating it is incredibly over moderated. The gm's are basically in the games #help channel 24/7 handing out mutes, threats, and just in general being very pissy. In fact they regularly shut down the entire #help channel and take it away from users rather than allow freedom of speech. Which I would think a game with a mature rating would be based on. The game had potential, but it is buggy and laggy as hell. It is also plagued with several game breaking exploits. But that is normal for an mmo. Especially a new one. But the GM staff of fallen earth are pretty much power mad jerks and they make the game feel very oppressive. I have to keep the #help channel off to actually be able to play because that is how often the gm's are making some annoying egotistical comment or threat. Also keep in mind too that you can't post anything negative about the game on their forums. They are afraid of the truth and that is why they are banning and muting people. What amazes me is that they think people will continue to pay them for this game under those circumstances. I certainly work. I cancelled my subscription yesterday when I watched them not only mute a guy for talking about a bug, but they also forced him to change his name. His in game name was Reverend. He is now Reverind. Meanwhile people walk around the game with names like INDO KUSH (drug reference), Mad Mardigen (willow) or various other shit but because they are fan boys they are left alone and allowed to keep their names. People interested in trying this game should know that the GM's are dicks and are running it into the ground like a bad IRC channel.

Hmm.. it's funny how only newly registered accounts come up with this story... for the 3rd time? :) At least it could be varied a little, for the sake of credibility :) Can't help the Deja Vu.... DB Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is. |

Wow, just wow. Unfortunately you are completely wrong in everything you just posted here. There are plenty of things posted in the forums that are negative commentary regarding FE. And the GM's being prissy? Gimme a break man. How many games have you played where an active GM was online and available at all times? Yeah, go back to WoW and submit your ticket and then wait 2 or 3 days until they decide to get around to telling you that there's nothing they will do for you. The only people I have ever seen get banned, muted, or talked to by the GM's in FE are people who type in all caps, don't listen when a GM reminds them of the /help channel rules, are rude, or are just overall complete douchebags. And I got one of my characters names changed by a GM. It's a foreign word that nobody knew and I had since I started playing. Apparently someone reported the name and they changed it. I wasn't suprised because they do have a naming policy, and OMFG they will enforce it. |
