You know, there are plenty of people on this forum with viewpoints very different from mine, and by and large I respect them. After reviewing a number of your posts I've realized that you have never posted anything worth reading. At least you are consistent. Oh gosh, I guess my day is just ruined now, isn't it? By the way, I don't agree with you that the relevant market here is health care. You're not regulating health care. You're regulating insurance. It's the insurance market that you're addressing and you're saying that some people who are not in it must be in it, and that's -- that's different from regulating in any manner commerce that already exists out there. - Scalia |

I really don't see much wrong with this, i just hope she is more pre-paired then she leads on. I personally think people are to over-protective now a days, if her family is okay with it then i don't see an issue here. Somebody was complaining about tax money being used to rescue her if something bad happens, i'm wondering why people aren't upset at tax money being used to rescue people for other things like Mountain climbing, etc. Perhaps we should all just lock ourselves in our homes and never do anything? wouldn't want to waste tax payer money... Instead of looking at all sides i think people are just re-acting to their emotions, i personally wish her luck and hope everything goes well. This topic is reminding me of the time Irwin held his kid feeding the croc and everyone over-reacted to it. While i do understand others points about how they wouldn't let their kid do this or that blah blah blah, in the end its not our daughter and i'll respect the parents enough to let them make their own decision. I actually understand the point Teala is trying to make. I'm very neutral about the whole thing. I personally lean towards; let her wait until she's eighteen and age technically ready to make such a decision. However, if she gets lost or some other rescue operation has to take place, all the tons it costs will be directly her responsibility. Also, I feel people are just supporting her because she's female and is attractive, and that's one of the only reasons she has gotten worldwide support. I think much less people cared when that 17 year old guy went on to circumnavigate the globe. |

If she has a lot of experience in the sea then I think she could have a chance.

I think that's the heart of the problem- she has very little experience. I just found this very sad news story- one of her mentors was killed in an accident at sea just ten days ago. It seems that a very experienced crew made a navigational error with disastrous results. Teala this is what I'm referring to when I say that she has entered a very unforgiving environment. I do wish her the best. Fortune does tend to favor the bold. |

Now everyone on this board knows you are under the age of 14. Better not let your mom hear you talk that way- you'll be grounded for the weekend. |

Ok, this just needs to be said before anyone says it: "She can circumnavigate my globes anytime!" My blog is a continuing story of what MMO's should be like. |

She is an Aussie princess/heroine and having rich parents who buy her a yacht But I think she got bad oods. The other kid was almost captured by pirates and was also close at a time to collides with tanker.

It would've been a whole lot cheaper for them if they'd just said she'd floated away in a balloon. |

terrible terrible terrible idea. if she does die it will be one of the longest most painful most agonizing deaths you can imagine. Being swept away by the sea, potentially living for days under a beating sun with water saturated skin and a extremely dehydrated body, with constant emotional and physical pain wishing you had never come out to sea in the first place. If shes lucky she'll drown quick or get eaten by a shark. Whoever advocates this has no clue as to the dangers of the sea. And if a 16 year old girl by Gods grace actually makes the voyage, its nothing short of a miracle. Ill be looking forward to hearing about the search and rescue mission in the news... If she decides to go through with it. I thought it was funny the OP that compared this to driving and other things.

I hope for the girl's sake that it's a big freaking hoax (like that man against wild guy) and they've got a professional crew sailing the boat for her. A goddam publicity stunt isn't worth a young life, and it is fairly obvious she doesn't understand how potentially dangerous this is. |

Here is a link to her blog. She is now saying that they will have a tracking system setup in a few weeks.I guess on her first attempt they did have one up for like ..1 day LOL.. |
