Honestly that doesnt tell me anything. Ya that is a big number, but in context with what? I mean if you need 365+ mil xp from 45-50 and your getting 1 xp per kill and 10 xp per quest, then ya that is a hell of a grind. But then again if you need 365+ mil and your getting 500k xp per kill and 1 mil+ xp per quest then no that really aint that bad of a grind.
So just giving out an arbitrary number for xp needed doesnt really show anything unless you put it in context. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. |

Are you calaculating using Incremental XP need per level, or just using total XP and subtracting it from Quest XP ?

And as mob xp goes up as you change areas, especially in the abyss, then that really isn't as bad as it sounds. As it is, with some hard playing, I've gotten 1-26 in 6 days on a second character. That's slightly more than half way to cap. |

This game is alot like lineage 2 then WOW. This game's grind curve is somewhat similiar to lineage 2 because right now it is only 1-50.... Imagine 50-60 level curve its insane!!!!! I refuse to roll an alternative character and level it to max and hum yea no fucking wonder there are tons of bot. Gold sellers and bot players alike flooding this game. This game is alot liek lineage 2 where as lineage2 you have to levle up to 85.

Here is some context
Level 40 XP required 42 million Level 40 mobs 25k xp a kill 1600 mob kills to get to level 41 1 mob kill a min on avg 20-25 hours of grinding
And this is just 40-41....I know at 50 its 140 million or so from 49-50, but no idea on even level mob xp is.

It amazes me people are surprised that there is a grind in a NCSoft game of all things. Did everyone really expect WOW 1.5 with wings here? I think so and I think the hype brought in folks who otherwise wouldnt have looked at the game anyways. Grind is good in some ways as it avoids end game burnout and gives time for content. It also in someways builds communities. However from a purely economic standpoint it sucks because it runs off all the OMG I have no time to catch up crowd. |

Eh, long as enough stay for them to still put an effort into fixing problematic areas in the game and adding content I'm perfectly content iwth the "OMG I have no time to catch up crowd" moving on so technically that's still a positive to me : P Just kidding though, I get what you mean. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

I started MMO's with the original EverQuest. These people have no idea what a real grind is like. MMO history: |

This is complete bull, at level 40 killing normal mobs your own level (almost any type, but some abyss mobs give higher exp) gives you 40k xp per kill. On average a normal mob you slaughter in 30 secs max (the max is for templars, rangers/sins go through mobs much quicker). There is no downtime for alchemists using pots and for those without pots the downtime is nonetheless minimal. As well as the choice of grp grinding in which you get 300k/6 = 50k xp per mob, and those elites go down quickly with the right group (this is from Kaidan HQ). Finally if you are a sorc or a Ranger you can solo elites and well get the 300k xp per kill every 4-5 mins including downtime, which amounts to about 3.3 mill xp per hour and 41mill/3.3 mill = about 12 hours.
So your so called "context" is totally made up and untrue. Richijefe |

Haha, I wonder what you'd say if you actually maxed a character in Lineage 2. |

Silkroad, L2 <<< Now that's hardcore. In silkroad you had to kill 4000 mob's just to finish 1 dam quest that would give you a whopping 0.05% EXP !! Also there was 2 types of grind, one was for EXP and the other was for Skill Points......whoever made that dam game was out of his mind. ^^everyone is in such a rush to get to max cap for any game these day's^^ Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries... |
