Aion - canceled today - felt that I will become disabled from pressing the same three buttons over and over again - thank you, no, I have a job already if I need that sort of thing in my life;

Champions Online - canceled last week - fun for a bit - made some sexy toons - gameplay meh - story line/quests written by a 5-yo.

Fallen Earth - currently playing - graphics are so so and performance ain't so hot but the game is keeping my interest so far...

Wondering if any of you had a similar progression... or regression... don't know which word is more appropriate. May be the latter.

I played those three in beta and saved myself $150. I may give FE another try seeing as how I didn't make it into the actual game world.

I won't be subbing to FE due to the fact that I hate the long stretches of travel with not much to look at other than ugly, boring landscapes or the ass of your horse for five, ten minutes at a time (plus the combat is really getting annoying). I'm just not connecting with FE like I thought I would. Also, this game is ugly, and not in the good Fallout 3 way. It's just drab.

As for CO, pretty much the reasons you listed is why I won't be subbing. Plus, the game runs like crap. It's just a terribly unoptimized graphics engine.

I'm liking Aion so far but I'm only a level 12 Templar so time will tell. I really wanna see what PVP is like.

Haven't played FE, but seeing there will be an upcoming trial, shouldn't hurt to try it I guess.

Played CO open beta... didn't make it past the tutorial zone, didn't enjoy the game style.

Playing Aion since the first NA closed beta and then at every NA beta and still having fun at level 32, ready for the second month of Aion.

No. I cancelled Aion preorder because of last second ... erm ... second thoughts.

I'm currently playing Champions Online and enjoying it. It's not a come home and log in and play type of game, which I like. I feel like I can play it very casually and get somewhere, which is really great for me at this time in my life.

I have my eyes on Fallen Earth. If I continue to read enough things that are positive about it, I'm sure I'm going to give it a try.

WoW is the new MUD.

I played FE in beta and thought it was fun for a bit (I can see why some people will like it) but after a couple days the clunky graphics and bad performance on my PC (i7 920) It stopped being fun.

Never played CO

Played Aion in beta and still playing it now, having alot of fun with it.

I think what you experience is what the fewest players will go through. I mean, the games are very very different from each other. So just if you look at screenshots, and even more if you do a tiny bit of research, most people will quickly realize which type of game they like most and probably buy that. Of course, some people also buy half a dozen games, play each for a day and then decide, but I think that's the minority.

At first I nearly bought CO because I wanted to try something different, had bad memories of the FE beta. But then I read about the item shop and heavy instancing and other problems, and then I decided I'm not too much a super-hero fan anyway, so I didn't buy it. Then I thought about Aion, because it looked so polished and had a great character editor. But then I read about the lack of replay value, about it having only two different starting zones, enforced PvP and didn't offer much new to me. So I decided against that as well.
Then I looked at FE again, and read "seamless worlds, lots of crafting, classless system", and thought "those three things all sound great, I guess I'll get used to the graphics". Once I noticed it costs also less I did the jump and bought it. And once I increased the graphics and told my graphics card to override some of the games settings and do the job itself, it didn't look that bad actually, and now I enjoy FE a lot.

I might enjoy Aion or CO more, but currently I'm having lots of fun, so I see now reason to try pay $$$ just to try something else.

So, I guess most people who look for a new MMORPG and want to buy one of these three will easily find out before buying which one they'd like, buy it, and most often like it.

Let's play Fallen Earth (from launch to present)

Open beta'd Aion and CO... neither were for me ( felt like the same crap I had been playing the last 5 or so years). Went ahead and bought Fallen Earth and it brings me back to when MMO's felt meaningful. Its funny actually... I thought I was done with MMO's.

Haven't tried Aion, mostly because I couldn't stand watching the animation and stances of the toons you saw in the demonstration vids and the more I read about the game I realize its not a game for me.

Played CO for 2 weeks, then ran into the content gap and realized how shallow the game is.

Currently playing FE and is blown away by the sheer size of the gameworld, the depts of the gameworld and the freedom of character customization (in terms of what you can do, not appearance). Also really impressed with how well thought out everything is. The people behind it has been determined to create something more than simply a playground for random quests and dungeons and it shows. Currently in a guild that plans to take and hold a city and make it ours . . . permanently!

Played all three in closed beta.

Played Aion at launch and will not be resubscribing due to gold farmers, bots, and the terrible pvp (imo).

Played FE in closed beta and just didn't care for the game, liked the setting though.

Still playing CO, enjoy the combat, but I do realize that it is going to take some time to mature into a better project.

Currently waiting for SWTOR.

Cheers!

Just for people that don't know, FE had a patch that cut cpu performance into half and many other optimizations so if you left because of performance you might wanna check it out again.

Played the others in closed beta but I'm currently subbed to FE.  The game is incredibly fun and addicting.  The long stretches of travel are easily done once you have your ATV (can be completed around level 6 or 7).  Also they are planning long distance travel options in the upcoming patches so it won't be much of an issue for someone to travel from Sector 3 to Sector 1.  The crafting system is good too.  I hate just wasting time waiting for my crafting to complete while I stand around a table.  In FE it works where you craft something and it has a timer.  At the end of the timer (which runs when you are logged off as well) you will be able to claim your crafted product and can have a queue of 20 items at a time ready to craft.   Tons of character choices to keep you interested.  Overall FE would be my recommendation if you can't already tell.

I always play two MMOs so I do not burn out on one of them too quickly. Champions and FE are to radically different games. It is like trying to decive between Madden 2009 and Fable. OK, maybe that is an extreme but you get the point.

During beta I wanted to like FE but had a REAL hard time getting into it. I have been playing Champions though. A week ago, after reading alot of great things about the improvements in FE I decided to make the investment.

I was happy I did. The game is addictive now that I can invest the time in it and spend a lot of time getting into, and understanding, the crafting system. there is a BIG learning curve you need to be prepared for but once past that the enjoyment ratchets up a lot.

I am  playing both Champions and FE and getting a great and different experience from both.

I bought and played all 3 at release.

All 3 were fun for something and boring for other things. In the end, I'm gameless right now.

Champions Online was fun, I made it to level 18, but AION came out and I wanted to try that. After leaving AION, I couldn't bring myself to play Champions again.

Fallen Earth had some good concepts, but poor execution. The game also was too centered around crafting for me. I thought the crafting and harvesting part of the game was boring, and a person who doesn't harvest or craft has a poor future. I prefer to loot what I use.

AION had 0 replayability and yet I rolled all 8 classes to try them out. I burnt myself out on the game before even getting to 25. A game must have replayability for me to enjoy it. Poor customer support and grinding didn't help either.
