A new part CG, part gameplay trailer for Star Trek Online is now available over at IGN. The trailer, as always, features explosive action, though the tone of this trailer seems to take a bit of an anti-Federation, pro-Klingon slant. Watch the trailer here! Michael "MikeB" Bitton |

Yeah nice vid. I just hope it's not all against AI controlled players. I want a challenge not another boring grind fest. |

Looks like a flashy high budget trailer. Nothing of notable interest. |

Its funny that the CG parts show what people really wanted from a ST game. Interiors and bridge crews. If the line mythic says holds true "People do not want to be scotty" or "People do not want to use consoles" then why keep including it in your tailors?

My impression was, it might become a cool game, but it has IMO zero to do with what Star Trek stood for. |

/agree. It's a trailer... Every time you see a CG trailer for a game, do you assume those parts will be in the game? That's why they use CG trailers, to make it more appealing. I can only speak for myself, but I would hate to have to sit in front of a computer watching a virtual character sit in front of a computer for hours. This is not a Star Trek sim, and shouldn't be. Like every other game, they are trying to make it as exciting as possible by cutting out many of the boring things you would have to deal with otherwise. Sure, there are people that would like to have this and have it be a true Star Trek sim, but it would be terribly hard to make such a thing and you would be dramatically cutting your intended customer base to just the hard-core trekkers. |

Showing the bridge crew shows the humanity and personalizes the encounter beyond "ship vs ship". It adds to the context of the encounter. It does not mean people have some weird console fetish. |

Can I just say how lame this game is. Why do I say that? The ground battles look horrible. The animations look really bad. The combat with phasers looks...cheesy, seriously, it looks so cheesy when a target can be spammed so many times by a phaser. LOL! The space battles just look...I dunno...::sigh::...sad. Nothing to go, "That was totally wicked!" Think I'll pass. ![]() |

I can find something to get excited about in most mmorpgs, but after watching that trailer and the gameplay footage, it just doesn't look appealing to me at all. Nothing about the game looks exciting. |

WTF? All I keep hearing is "what Star Trek stands for" "oh what Star Trek stands for" OMG do you know what a game stands for? Jeez for pete's sake just quit it already, can't ever read a star trek thread without someone saying "Oh cryptic don't know what trek stands for!" Yea.... and you do right? After they've read piles of novels and watched piles and piles of videos and movies while snoring on their popcorn you think you know more than them? I'd like to see you make the game and manage to satisfy not just yourself but everyother person in the known gaming world. Great vid, t'was full of action. This is not a game. |

It doesn't matter, this isn't a ST game, its an E&B clone. But apparently, after making three games with the star trek title, making another DIKU... IN SPACEEEEEE!!!! Is a financially sound idea, and what the people want. I guess the third time is the charm, and it is mythic we are talking about. It worked so well three times before, and people just loved it.
