Little Timmy, hide in the attic and we'll let this giant freaky UFO hoax lookin balloon go and tell the cops we think you're in it then mommy and daddy can figure out a way to turn the publicity into a little cash....

I have never laid a finger on my son, and he has really never deserved a spanking either...

...however this little brat and his brother needs to be beaten.  If the parents were in on it, they should pay the multi-million dollar bill for all of the air security and rescue operation that happened, and face possible criminal prosecution as well.

The fact that this fringe family was on the horrible show Wife Swap leads me to believe that they all have taken us for a ride. Shame on CNN and the local news station that wasted everyone's time on this pathetic story.

If this was a hoax, which its starting to look like, I wouldn't blame local or national news for grabbing the nation's attention. It's not like they were alone in being duped. NORAD and the National Guard had in part began participating. Local authorities though, that's a different story. Flip the house upside down before holding a press conference and fueling the helicopter. 

Let's just hope WE were the only ones watching and not the world at large. A language barrier elsewhere plus footage of us pulling an aluminum balloon from the sky and beating it with a pitchfork in the middle of some farm sets us back a century or two.

A six year old is never to blame.  At that age, it's all on the parents.  The only people who need a spanking in this case (no one, especially children, ever deserve to be "beaten") are the parents. 

I'm sorry, spanking kids is not the right solution ever.   I did it one time with one of my little ones and to this day I still break down in tears just thinking about it.   Never again.    Thre are better ways to discipline a child that does require a grown adult to smack a child around or to spank them.

Well it looks like the Heenes are going to get the attention they crave.  Hopefully it will end in a criminal conviction and some possible jail time.  Then I'm sure they will get more than their fair share of attention in prison.  Especially with Richard Heene's fine features.

Evidently, the whole faked fiasco also ruined a wheat field that supports another family.  I'm sure lawsuits will ensue.

These posers are just making it that much harder for people to believe the next time a kid floats off in a balloon.

It is very unfortunate that this whole story had to occur.

I was so worried while hearing about this boy and now to hear that it was a hoax is very disappointing. Hopefully the children will be ok after the stress they have been put through in this tragic event.

Your right Zin just caught this up with the story;pretty sad but red flags were there once you found out the history of this family

 I guess his next reality show is still going to be "WIFESWAP" though , just it will be in Colorado State penn. instead of ABC . Hehe.

This whole story makes me think of Twelve Monkeys... especially with the swine flue pandemic about to wipe humanity away.

I think they are going to file Felony charges.Especially with all the emergency equipment and people tied up with this mess as well as the airport shut down.

 I really hope no one in drastic need of an ambulance died due to response time because of this fiasco
