Whenever i reach L30 with any class combo i am becoming very bored, everything goes much slower and doing the same grind quests over and over again is a pain. is there any company out there ever able to make games without the horrible need to kill 30 of this and 25 of this and another 40 of these ? even AION does it and thats the reason i am not buying it either, stupid Asian grind games, i really start to hate them. There must be another way to make a mmorpg without the horrible need to grind for weeks, there must be some creative developers out there with better ideas than grind grind grind grind. Runes of Magic is nice at lower levels then its becoming slower and slower, so slow that i dont log in anymore because i know even if i kill 50 Trees i wont see my xp bar move much. at Level 34 my Warden needs to do like 25-30 daily quests with each 12k xp reward for one damn level, thats 3 days of doing daily quests mixed with normal quests. killing almost 1000 mobs for 1 stupid level is pure waste of lifetime. i am pretty dissapointed with the current state of the mmorpg market, its all about repeating quests over and over, its all about killing 9999999 mobs to achieve something, the few "deliever this, deliever that" quests arent solveing that.

I think that's just the nature of the beast. Really if you think about it, pretty much all games with an advancement system are grinds of some type. Quest grinds, gear grinds, skill grinds, mob grinds, PvP grinds... you're pretty much just doing the same thing over and over. That's how they (hope) to keep you playing. The trick is how to make the grind fresh each day and/or how to disguise it. I really don't know what else they (MMO companies in general) could do to get away from that other than have GM interaction with the game world to create spontaneity, but the only game I've seen even suggesting that is on hold right now (Hero's Journey). MMO games would be pretty cool if it weren't for the people. |

Yeah, the leveling in RoM is pretty standard fare with its ups and downs but the real problem is that you have to do it atleast twice. Also, you can only do standard quests once, which means if you clear out an area on your primary class the only thing left for your secondary in that area are daily quests. |

Well technically you don't have to level a secondary class, but I get what you mean.
Personally I like that about RoM because it levels the playing field somewhat between the power gamers and the casual gamers. I usually do 2 or 3 regular quests and the 10 dailies each night, so I never run out of quests to do, even with keeping my secondary at the same level as my primary. MMO games would be pretty cool if it weren't for the people. |

i havent played in 2 weeks now, i dont feel like login into this game anymore. for me its "Runes of Boredom"
The Warden Class is still unfinished and their pets are a boring joke with 1 attack skill. All i see on the Loader is "30%less" here and "40% less" there. I think many people are leaving this game thats why so many "special sales" are there. Suddenly everything is cheaper , less Diamonds for mounts , less Diamonds for XXXX and and and..... the 2 class combo seems good at start but when you have to level your 2nd class you feel like doing the same twice, if you start new characters its even worse...
i think RoM is dieing...... and to be honest Runewalker 110% aimed for the players cash, 90% would have been fair enough, i dont care anymore if this game disappears.
EDIT 29.10.2009 Warden ELITE Skills were released, dissapointing and useless skills, implemented by bored and incompetent class designers and developers. Best to avoid this game in future and play AION or something else.....
