I want to make a thread because im curious to buy or Fallen earth or Aion.

Im very curious about the Pro's and Con's of both games and i want people's opinions to decide which game i get.

Some additional info about my playstyle.

1.  I love big MMO's with alot of people and people to do stuff with not like Guildwars is now no people like to play missions with me.

2. I love fantasy but also the First person shooters games.

3. Grinding doesn't matter to me i would grind my life if i had to.

4.  I do care about skills etc. how complicated they are how in depth they are in game.

5. I care alot about lore because that really makes the world alive.

I'm also curious what the MMORPG community likes best.

Fallen earth or Aion ?

That's like asking "Banana or grilled cheese sandwich?". They are two completely different games. If you prefer WoW, WAR, EQ2, AoC play Aion. If your tired of fantasy, enjoy EVE or SWG, play FE.

I asked what the community likes best and what's the difference saying a banana is more delicious than a Grilled cheese sandwich they both have Pro's and Cons And i want to know those for these games so i can choose.

Well, there are some reviews on FE in that forum, and I would suggest you read those due to those poster being a lot more eloquent than I will ever become :)

As to your points (as pertaining to FE):

1. Lots of people, not too much grouping. Generally don't need a group, but won't hurt you.

2. It's not fantasy, and not really FPS.It's a RPG with FPS aiming.

3. Killing mobs don't give a lot of XP, so grinding them would be sort of futile. Leveling is not the main point of the game anyway, as levels are fairly irrelevant.

4. FE has stats. You can get skills by buying books, and to get a skill you need a certain level of stats, but you don't really use skills too often (except healing ofc)

5. Both FE and Aion has lore made for the game and is not from some big IP. One is post-apoc sci-fi, the other one is fantasy.

To be frank, you sound like you probably would like Aion better for the a.m. reasons.

First of all - I find it hard to compare these 2 games. They're really nothing like each other and I think you'd benefit from looking into what the games are about before you choose. With that disclaimer away, I'll give it a try still and answer to your own points :)

1. It shouldn't be a secret that Aion is by far the biggest of the games and have full (queue-full!) servers sprawling with people of all sorts. It's my experience that there's a much larger diversity of people in Aion - you have everything from clueless mmo-nubs to veterans and quite many of each. I haven't experienced FE empty in any way and there are also people there to provide a mmo experience. The FE players generally seem more experienced mmo players to me that "dare" to throw themselves into something a bit more unpolished and rough and manage to get along without spoon-feeding.

2. Aion is the most fantasy'ish of the 2 but has your traditional 2,2,3,4,2... style of combat. FE gets a bit closer to a FPS experience without being a UT/Quake kinda game in any way, however. I kinda feel FE combat resembling your typical Tomb Raider style combat. You won't need ultra fast reflexes, but you're aiming with ranged weapons, have your increased head-shot dmg etc. FE is post-apocalyptic which ofc has nothing to do with fantasy

3. I'm not far enough in FE to compare the grind so won't comment on that. I can say that Aion resemble typical Asian games in the grind. It's not as bad as Lineage 2 but it's in the same category

4. Aion has your classical class selection of 4 and specialization to one of 2 alternatives at lvl 10 yielding 8 total classes. These are all cookie cutter and set more or less in stone from the get-go. You choose a Templar, you tank. You choose a Cleric, you heal. Period. You have flavors in form of stigmas, but that is indeed flavors and will never get your cleric to do any kind of competitive dmg. FE is skill based where you delve into the different skills as you choose on the way. It's not clear to me yet if you can end up with a hopeless built in FE but my guess would be that you could screw things up if you don't think.

5.
Many have called Aion's lore shallow and to be honest, I've seen it deeper in B-movies too and the clichés are countless. I don't mind it though and despite the rather shallow story I've found Aion immersive as it is. It's simple, but it's to the bone and you can rely to it without great philosophy. There's the dark and light side and the common, oh-so-evil, npc faction. So, I'd say the world is still alive and easy to feel a part of. Whether despite or maybe even because of the shallow set-off. Hmmm... The story evolves along a pretty straight line from start to end.

FE's story isn't a revolution either (when looking broader than MMOs at least) though in my eyes there's more to that than Aion's. There's a bit more surprise to it, you still have your clichés but it's a fresh breath in the MMO world with a post apocalyptic setting. I like the story to it and as far as I've come yet, I think they've nailed to actually have a story following a rather open/sandboxy game. You're kept more within a frame than in EVE, but you're not spoon-fed from start to end

I see Aion as an attempt to gather the "best" (that's subjective ofc) from games like WoW, Lineage2, Guild Wars, Warhammer and Age of Conan. It plays a lot like all of those really. The Abyss is the spice of the day and it's, so far, good fun. Whether it'll have long time appeal is yet to say. FE goes a lot more its own way. The inspiration from these mentioned games is there but there's certainly a completely different and open/sandboxy setting in a completely new (post-apocalyptic) environment. There's a vast amount of potential in FE depending on the community that delves into it and the developers will/commitment and ability to respond to the community which is impossible to predict the outcome of. Aion is more or less as Aion is and like the games is inspired from was before that.

Aion is too linear and typical. Fallen Earth is less polished, but more interesting

It's about the same question as asking:
Do you want to go to the McDonalds nearby or in some exotic restaurant you haven't been at before.
At McDonalds you know exactly what you will get, and many people love going there. You know what it tastes like, you know the quality and you know what you are at.
At the foreign restaurant, you might find spelling errors in the menu, have to ask what certain dishes actually are, the cook might have a good or bad day and the restaurant might have closed half a year later. You might find meals you love and eat food which kind of you have never tasted before. Or you might find things in your meal that seem disgusting for you and it's either too spicy or whatnot and you might just hate it.

I personally went for FE, simply because I dislike games that are too instanced, I dislike predefined paths I have to follow and I dislike beeing forced to PvP. I also love crafting and trying something new, and I liked the Mad-Max setting. Playing FE now for two weeks and enjoying it.
Maybe I'd have fun with Aion too, I don't know. But I chose this, and I like it.

FE is rougher and less polished in many ways. But it also is quicker, since the small company can immediately change things if they desire and discuss with the players actually on the discussion boards what can be done to improve this and that, and patches come at a rapid pace adressing any problems.
Some people might get bored of having to travel sometimes for 30 minutes or so through nothing but a brown desert. Others might be excited by having finished their new vehicle and cheering when they find weak petroleum the moment they run out of fuel, spending time while crafting the gasoline and get their bike back to running in killing stuff nearby or looting wreckages of cars whichs owners were less lucky.

It also seems to me, according to what I read, that FE is aiming a bit at a more mature audience. In matters of... in Aion, people from all ages can have fun. It's not just for kids, don't get me wrong, but kids are more likely to have fun in Aion where a large part of the game is friendly and colorful than in FE where they might get struck down with a headshot if they enter a PvP area, or where they might gimp their character and beeing forced to restart from scratch.

Edit:
And check out the "lets play fallen earth" videos on youtube. :P

Let's play Fallen Earth (from launch to present)

I'm not a vegetarian because I love animals, but because I hate plants.

Although I think Aion follows the mould that has been beaten to death with a shovel, from what you've said, it is far more your game. It embodies very much that epic quality, especially in the large PvP, that you've said you desire. The lore isn't bad and it is far more of a traditional fantasy game than Fallen Earth.

Personally I would choose FE. But I'm not you. I'm after something a little different, getting tired of the wave after wave of bow wielding, pointy eared elves and wizard fire balls that I'm used to. Hmmm wizard fire balls, sound kinky?

Hello folks I will probably decide to get FE Because the pro's i like that the people called and the game quite looks like Fallout 3 and i loved that game.

But still Discuss on because im still not clear of what to choose.

Edit; Niceone  I like to play with party's and such that does not mean i like epic grand battles.

 Tried both Aion and FE.

Right now FE is the only game with active subscription. Aion was boring and is missing some features I would like. FE is less feature-rich but is really fun!

Apples & oranges.  Will appeal to different audiences.  Not really a fair comparison.

Aion is the game you're looking for. It fits a lot better with what you look for in a game than Fallen Earth.

Neither. I have to wait for something really new.

Of the two, I'd pick Fallen Earth.

Aion is more polished and seems a fairly solid game .. but it feels very generic to me, I can't stand the character customization and I don't like the unavoidable gankings.

Fallen Earth is rough around the edges; occasional rubber-banding monsters, limited character customization and getting stuck in terrain .. but it's a fresh setting, has FPS style combat and great crafting.

OP are you sick and tired of Linear MMO's and most importantly WOW?

If so go with Fallen Earth, I open beta'd Aion and I could not stand the first 5 levels... felt like WOW, but with the environment graphics of an asian F2P game (decent character models though).

I am currently enjoying exploring Fallen Earths huge huge world that is actually meaningful.

I tried both and went with Fallen Earth. Aion is already concelled, I won't ever cancel FE unless they pull a NGE which is unlikely. Many of the points brought up in this thread give a pretty good idea about both.

I will say in Aion I never saw an event, not in the two and half weeks I played.

I was in 2 seperate events by day 3 in fallen earth and 4 events before that first week was out. Not global events but region town events which were a ton of fun. They have fairly frequent world events as well, the texas invasion which I missed and before the months out they will have the zombie plaque event.

You can just tell the developers and GMs are really into thier game and that kind of care and devotion shows.
