Now they are making GW2 with a full open world ,then yes i agree it will seriously rock. It already has a vast player base and being free to play other than the price of the box, really gives it that edge. SWTOR just shouts...linear gaming to me.As of now all i am seeing is KOTOR3 with multiplayer add on.Bioware really need to stop spouting on about voice overs and stories, instead show us the mmorpg elements of thie game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OugSd7moMNE |

People were saying the same thing before Guild Wars came out. I liked GW and so did many others but it didn't dominate the market.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Im waiting for this game for this reason, but wouldn´t go so fanbot about it. I would expect and Average mmorpg (like the ones out there) just FTP wich means a large portion of gamers 2ND game, but still not enought to beat "the big spoon feeding" mmo, i would see it beating ranks with lotro, aoc, aion and such. now: M&B Warband: cRPG MOD, Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning, L4D2 |

"Because You dont have to pay monthly to play like Most other Stupid,Crappy, WoW Like, Dumb, Babyish, Theme Park MMORPGs." My god, he did. The only thing he uses to justify it being dominant is the fact you don't have to pay monthly. This game is still in its creation phase and nowhere near even beta, how can anyone say how good it will be?
If a good game is defined by how much it cost then there are plenty of apparently awesome games already out there. |

Very pretty pictures and awesome promises. I hope it lives up to all that, for it really does look cool. Now, if it actually releases with all that and plays as advertised, THEN I will get hyped up. Until then, it is just pretty pictures and excellent ideas. |

Originally posted by dstar. Exactly. And people will, for months clamor on about how this will "kill WOW" and have 15 million subs and be the greatest invention since sliced bread. And then it will launch, and most likely not live up to expectations. Then the troll vs. fanboi debates will begin. In the middle, one will find the truth. And the cycle continues. |

it actually sucks to not make big MMO´s P2P, i like to pay some bucks a month for a good MMO. gives the company a good budget which they can (Partially) use to invest even more in the game. if WoW was free to play it wouldve died a long time ago...

I really want Guild Wars 2 to succeed as well. My best memories from any "MMO" were fighting against other guilds alongside a closely knit group of IRL friends. If Guild Wars 2 can at least deliver the same level of in-depth PvP that Guild Wars provided, then this game will be a gigantic hit. Everything else is just icing on the cake; the new races, added customization, persistent universe, improved graphics, you name it. Regardless, GW2 could easily be the one MMO I'm most hyped for. So despite the overdramatic introduction, I can't help but agree with tro44_1 when he hopes this game will dominate (or at least put a dent in) our monopolized industry. |

You do know they are keeping the competitive side of it instanced, like guild versus guild matches, and most likely will have arena systems for small group play. |
