The fact that the antigovernment zealots named themselves after the act of dunking your balls in another man's mouth never ceases to amaze me. So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. But I pressed on, and as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me. I don't know if it was divine intervention or the kinship of all living things, but I tell you, Jerry, at that moment ... I was a marine biologist. |

Get ready for Glenn Beck to announce his leadership with the salad-tossers on Fox tonight. Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |

You're not regulating health care. You're regulating insurance. It's the insurance market that you're addressing and you're saying that some people who are not in it must be in it, and that's -- that's different from regulating in any manner commerce that already exists out there. - Scalia |

Exactly, the Tea Party idea was a reference and homage to the Boston Tea Party, for the historically challenged among us.
However, the term did seem to originally come from a protester's sign: "In February, David Weigel of The Washington Independent photographed a protester holding a sign that read "Tea Bag the Liberal Dems Before They Tea Bag You."[118] The verb "tea bag" is used by others including Fox News Reporter Griff Jenkins and reteaparty.com where it is used self-referentially.[119] Salon.com, however, pointed out that "teabagging" has long had another meaning."

This led to the media calling them teabaggers.

Jumping on Fisher's "OMG HE'S DERANGED" bandwagon? Adorable. I am more than OK, thank you. So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. Umm Proof or stfu... The only one calling them Teabaggers was the Media for the longest time. Then like Rush's silly fallowers they took the name.
