 Hey, so i got this from the darkfall website,pretty new info ^^  just wanna let y'all know

"We had the opportunity to talk to the AI Brains behind Darkfall who kindly gave us some interesting information about what they are currently working on.

One of the complaints of the community when it comes to “fluff” was (and is) that the world feels empty when it comes to wildlife. Monsters are mostly roaming around their own area and/or points of interest.

Therefore we are quite excited to be allowed to share this new bit of information with you:

The AI team is currently working on wildlife additions. This new type of AI will be roaming throughout the world and react quite differently then their aggressive counterparts. We have also been told that those will be quite numerous and spread in much bigger radius and areas not limited by any artificial camp range.
The idea behind these new type of AI is of course to add to the immersion while the same time creating new ways of gathering resources. We have also been assured that they are specifically being careful to not add to the server load with these new type of additions as they are well aware that performance during sieges is always a top priority.

What do you think about this potential boost for Darkfall's immersion?"

Yeah I know they won't but if I was a player of DF this would make me feel pretty pathetic.  They are actually adding mobs in game and that is news yeah what a sandbox.........

 let me explain a bit about darkfall -.-'   it has plenty of mobs, but theyr usually  around certain "hotspots",  like  ruins, towns, the realistic thing where humanoids hang around and to live :P.  between these hotspots are either players or nothing, open world. 

that theyr adding wildlife with a different AI from the original NPC mobs in the game is pretty cool in my opinion, especially cos darkfall is mostly pvp oriented......

I am all for fluff...I love fluff but..........if everything was fixed and working as intended I would say put resources on fluff but there is still quiet a bit to do so fluff should be down the list in maybe a march expansion as they will have to fix what the october one breaks. But this is a good sign and it badly needs fluff. NPC fillers and fluff would be nice too.

This is great news. lol at the guy thinking they're only now putting in mobs. Why post? You don't know what you are talking about.

It's been a pet peeve of mine in game. I see lots of players and all kinds of different mobs, but the only animals I've come across were a very angry couple of bears that came after me in some mountains. For me it will add so much more immersion as I'm tending to explore so much in this game.

As you can see NO double charging.

You can continue to hate on Darkfall , or pay try a beta, or play 8-10 years old games or go even play gaion. Is on you.

You also missed a lot of progression. The PvE skillgain patch almost killed macroing to oblivion and the new professional liason team which talks on daily basis  to us.

They have announced transfers, they have yet to say when, how, or how much.

As for double charging, we were told, and I can link again if needed, that upon launch of the NA server, NA players on EU would be taken care of. We were also lied to and told that the NA rights were to a different company and that was why EU accounts couldnt become NA accounts day one.

So for the ignorant, the idiots, the illiterate, or the average darkfall player.

AV promised NA players prior to launch that they would be taken care of AT na release.

AV then launched NA servers and NA players on EU servers have to pay to play there 50.00 or wait3 months (we are past the 3 month mark now) for some kind of transfers that will have some kind of fee(unless you happen to get in on the month they do it...god only knows when that will be), and possible restrictions.

This is charging twice for those who cant add.

AV informed NA players that a different company owned Darkfall rights in NA, and thats why this was done. Then Tasos in an interview let it slip that actually Darkfall in NA is owned by an LLC setup by Aventurine, that is a completely owned subsidiary of AV... thus... AV owns NA and AV owns EU.

When someone says one thing, and in reality its another, we call it lying or being a liar.

I can help you read it :

You have been offered prior to you buy a copy that a migration will be offered to you, there is nothing stating you would be able to participate at NA launch.

There are people seems who will not pay twice and play on NA-server.

Once again, I find myself pleasantly surprised by potential changes to the game.  I'm still want to see change actually occur, but it does seem like Aventurine has listened to all of the criticism (most of which was justified, IMO). The truly rabid "fans" will most likely leave in disgust, but true fans will benefit from the changes.

I think what you are describing here is what pretty much any MMORPG has from the beginning. The fact that DF is adding this so late after the release presents the game in a negative light. I think thats what the previous poster wanted to tell in his post.

Dont forget its only fluff they are talking about  : )

I dont mind it, but some rabbits jumping around wont change the outcome in any war in DF. If i want rabbits, i play some asian grindfest MMO instead.

"Fluff" as you put it, is one of those things that helps keep the game going when wars aren't being fought, and you can't find someone to pvp. Fluff could mean the difference between keeping a few extra players (adding to the pvp) and losing a few extra players.  Sometimes it is the little things that will keep players in the game and attract the new ones, and for open world pvp, you kind of need players.  And in the long run, those players could be members of a guild fighting in a war, thus helping to decide the outcome of a war.  So yeah, in a round about way, some rabbits jumping around could change the outcome of a war.

Well having time to work on their server processes probably hasn't hurt either.

Very astute. Remember they had to drop their roving guards and go to guard towers since the servers could only handle 10K total mobile objects including players!!

I am sure that they have tweaked some code since then but they have also hemorraged subscriptions so there is more processor time available for the servers to track "fluff" MOBs. Of course with most of the game client side they should just let you have all the wildlife you want and let you kill it on your own local machine and not worry about what is on the server.

Oops: just gave the hackers a new idea, sorry shillbots my bad.

You do realize there is an another big patch or "expansion" coming this month right? A lot of interesting stuff is coming in and including enhancements to character specialization.

I've been playing since launch and I've had good times and bad times with Aventurine so far. I think they are finally on the right track. So once paid beta is over, hopefully it will draw new players to the game.
