I had similar feelings to the post above me. I would read an article on FE once in a while and checked the screen shots out but after so many dissapointments on big releases my logic told me how the hell could a small firm pull a game out of the bag that would be exactly what I want. Yet after several hours of gameplay I am still dumbstruck how good it is. It just feels right on so many different levels and 2 key areas I love the most is the huge open world and the feeling I can go off track and find wreckage and even tonight I found a dense area of uber wreckage way off the track and I felt rewarded for exploring. Plus the crafting is right up there as one of the best. Better sill I have made and added plenty of items to the auction house and they have all sold! The mere fact that you don't have to level in town A then move to town B and then town C is also a big relief. I see lot of new players having issues with this in help asking where they go next but the whole point is...get on your bike or horse and ride off into the sunset. Regarding the graphics issue, I run everything on max and I am a complete pixel whore and graphics means a lot to me. I am very happy with it and the avatars plus mobs look better than most MMO's but they are not cartoonish which may put people off. I was about to quit MMO's for good about 6 months ago but now I remember why I play them. |

I DID quit MMO's and went back to CS. Then I Saw a little ad for FE on Steam, and the rest is history... I think the best part about this game is that is immerses you like no other. Keep running out of ammo? Tough shit, this is the apocalypse, go make your own. Tired of running all the time? Build an ATV out of wreckage or GTFO. Hungry? How about some spoiled food or tainted drink? Keep dying all the time? Better get some skills, because that gun you paid 2 blue for is 12/98 condition. Out of gas? 2 blues gets you a gas tank. Would you like to do some drugs? Its about the only thing that can make you forget you are in a barren wasteland. When I first came to Terance, I looked around and said "What a shit hole"...

In my opinion one of the best things about the game is the community ,and the successful launch has had a massive help there. Look at the threads in this forum.. No massive flaming, noone QQ'ing, people recognizing and understanding the flaws, humor, and actual exchange of opinions and argumentation. Then maybe head over to the other release, Aion, and take a quick peek. Which developer do you think get the better feedback and can better serve its customers? On a side note, I lost a 90 skill sniper rifle Sunday due to the rollback, and many others had the same experience. If it was another game threads would be flying faster than you could read them.. |

Agree, the community is very good and quite helpful. I even had someone today send me some rare ingriedients for free when I was yelling in auction to buy them. Basically it seems everyone is happy to report bugs and just get on with it but then again I have not come across a play killing bug. Even when the servers just went down now for a late service there were no flamers in global. Nice change |

The best part is that we players are quite sure we have found a mmo gem and that reflects the attitude in the game between the players and the devs :)

Had a good session on the game today and decided to go exploring. Mostly found bits and pieces but then came across a sector vault with 20 nodes around it. The feeling of actually finding something most people haven't is a great feeling in a game and makes you want to explore more. Plus teamed up for the first time to run a large dungeon and that was just too cool. 3 players firing long range while the rest of us charged in with clubs and swords. Real gem |

We definitely have a very good company behind Fallen Earth. I can second a few of the posts here, talking about their experience with customer support from fallen earth. I actually submitted a ticket, my first ticket ever since going live, about some items i lost during a server restart. I got about 3-4 emails from Icarus the same day, giving me the status of my ticket and that they retrieved the items I had lost when they took down the server. The next day in the patch notes, I see that they added "Optimizations to prevent item loss after a server shutdown."
Cheers to Icarus, they've gotten it right and listen to the feedback of their players. |
