On the one hand, it's an MMOFPS. By the makers of EVE. Which is awesome.
On the other hand, it's console based.

Controllers. Ew. Auto-aim. Eww.

I agree it would have been cool to see it on PC.

But your idea of console players to be kiddies kinda shows that even pc gamers can be very immature if they actually think that way.

Maybe you have bad experiance with console players, just understand they are not all like what you might have experianced, there are allot more adults playing video games regardless if it's pc or console then kids, just have a somewhat more open mind to it and know we got bad apples on both sides.

so... Am I immature? I think you have a very bias opinion on console players (suggesting you might be immature your self?). No, actually I think you are just upset that you do not own a console to be able to play  Dust 514. I bet you anything that Dust 514 will have more players than EVE does. I also bet you that cooperation between Dust 514 and EVE players will be perfectly fine, if not great.

Edit: to the person above me you got a lot more college students playing console games. Especially that of the 360. Most kiddies have the Wii or PS3.

Obvious you speak about your experiance, I speak about mine, most college students I know own a PC and are not into console gaming as a matter of fact most college students I know hardly play games as they lack the time to do so, collage with their outdoor social life seems busy enough to many I know, also my wife's girlfriends most of them have a WII, some of my friends also have WII's/PS3's/Xbox360's together with PC's, and we are all above our 30's.

So again I feel it's pretty immature to suggest console's to be for kiddies. Sad that people can not except gamers to be gamers regardless if it's a console gamer or pc gamer we all are gamers.

O.o Since when do college students have the money to own a PC, let alone find room in a dorm! I want to know where these people live! Sigh... I have to come to my parents house to use my PC. Either than that I am stuck on my laptop. Yes, I agree with you that it is based on experience.

I think it is a good move to put Dust 514 on console, it will really open up the crowed and also make gameplay more fair/even. Less hacking that is for sure. I think this will be something like Chrome hounds with a mix of battlefield 2142. None the less I am really excited for it to come out in whatever! 

Ohh... There is not really any need for co-operation between EVE players and Dust514 players. I mean anyone can join any battle. We know we do not have to wait for an EVE alliance/corp to take a planet over or whatever.  The only co-operation between EVE and Dust 514 players will be to make sure that the corp/alliance is getting a good group of players fighting for them.

Just say no to aimbots.

How do you know they'll do it for months? 

They just announced the damn thing not too long ago. Now, they need to spark interest, and the best way to do that is with a graphically-pleasing, (usually short) taste of what to expect. And you're mad at them for that?

 Is just sad that there are people out here playing FPS with pads.  A control pad is NOT a good device.  Thats why these people need the games dumbed down, thats why there are soo much  autoaim,  scripted sequences ( Quick Time Events) and Third Person View games.   Since the pad is soo horrible control device, the game sould be a 20% played by the machine automatically.  On the PC the player has the 100% of the control to the character, so we can aim, shot and move exactly how and where we can.  

REAL GAMERS sould stop playing in consoles.

This so called Auto aim is nothing more than Aim Assist. It's barely noticable in modern console FPS.

Scripted Sequences has nothing to do with a game being dumbed down, it's done to make a game more cinematic. A scripted environment gives the developer the option to make very epic battles. That's why games like Crysis have impressive AI, but don't have any epic battles whatsoever.

Quick Time Events are annoying, but they have nothing to do with control limitations and are also present on the PC. The reason for that is once more, cinematic gameplay. The game that invented it was actually an Arcade Game, Dragons Lair. It was actually a cartoon. During the Cartoon, players had to press a button at the right time or else the main character would die. If you hit the button at the right time, the movie continues playing.

It was recently made popular again by God of War, which used it for cinematic finishing moves which would be impossible to program to be pulled off by the player.

This person is dumbed down? Do I even need to adress how ridiculous that claim is? I don't think so.

Yes, I am indeed annoyed by that. It's a recent trend that's pretty annoying.
Pre rendered footage gives an impression of the game that is never matched by the actual game. Do you seriously think that the game will be as cinematic as that trailer suggests? Ofcourse not, especially not in a multiplayer game.

A trailer is meant to show something. That trailers shows almost nothing related to the actual gameplay of the game. I'm going to play a game, that's why I'm interested in actual gameplay. This game doesn't show any gameplay. It doesn't even show any actual ingame graphics.

I hope it turns out to be good because I like fps sci-fi style games.This will have cross-platform interaction and it will be for the console. It will be innovative and hopefully fun to play.

You might not think so, but to people playing FPS' on a decent PC it really, really, really is.

It's a question of speed and precision as well as the aim-assist and snap-to-target mechanics.

Mice are just far superior than a controller.

Most people who play FPS on the PC usually don't give consoles even a fair chance.

It's a completely different control scheme, it takes time to adjust to. You can't just pick up a controller, play for 5 minutes and expect to be just as good as with a mouse and keyboard. Unfortunately, that's the expectation the average PC only fps player. They played on a controller for a few minutes, didn't like they were just as good with it as with a mouse and keyboard and went back to the PC.

If that's the case, it's nice to know that I'm not average.

I own (and love) a PS3 .. have bought several FPS games for it in an attempt to "give it a fair chance" and my opinion remains unchanged. The auto-aim mechanic and the lack of precision in the controller aren't things that get better with time.

I'm sure that the argument could be made that I would eventually adapt if I was to make a complete break and never play a PC FPS again .. but I can't imagine what motivation I would have that would incite me to make a permanent switch to a less enjoyable playing experience.
