Nice find! I hope that means that space combat will be around at launch. The fact that they are already preparing a page with information about it is a good sign. |

I wonder if it would be technologically feasible to make a hybrid of EVE/TIE Fighter where the larger capital ships controlled like EVE i.e more tactically and slower, and the smaller ships like X-Wings would be manned by players in a twitch dog fight type gameplay...that way the tactical lovers could command fleets and when they ordered the X-Wings or TIEs to dispatch, they were manned by actual players instead of generic AI. Probably some flaws in doing it that way, but seems like kind of a cool idea at the time. :) |

I could see massive guild faction battles taking place in space, fleets of small and large ships fighting in large scale battles. That's pretty much what I want, considering how visual the ground terrain is, I could only imagine the intensity of twitch based space combat and how well it would look visually. My next concern would be ship customizations. |

This game you speak of is already in the works. It's called Black Prophecy. You should check it out. |

Awesome, this may nullify the argument that STO is better than TOR, now that it both ground and space combat.

"point is bioware needs to take notes and see what gamers really want." Let's be honest here since we are all gamers and Bioware has done fine by it's fans (me included) in the past, you don't mean what gamers want you mean what disgruntled swg vet's want as evidenced by your very next post. When it comes to trusting an opinion about gaming I'm sorry I'll stick to whatever it is that Bioware is deciding to do as opposed to being led to believe that you disgruntled vet's give two shits about what anyone else wants and that it isn't about trying to pressure them into recreating pre CU SWG in whatever form you all decide. |

It's actually not worthy trying to explain, you're best off just shrugging it off, Stillkillin doesn't understand logic and probably never will. All you have to know is he has "200K" friends ready to boycott ToR, he thinks he has the power to change ToR in to Pre-cu or has the power to make them put up a Pre-cu server, he also claims he is the reason SoE is "dying". It gets really retarded, I could go on, but at this point, I have accepted the fact that some mental institution has given its patients computers. |

I wouldn't mind giving space a shot this time around. Stillkillin is a troll and his posts should be ignored by anyone with half a brain. He posts the same things over and over again every week, maybe the logic there is that repetition makes your opinion universal. That logic fails. Hard. |

This is his fourth or fifth MMORPG.com forum handle. They all say the same thing. Truly delusional. So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. But I pressed on, and as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me. I don't know if it was divine intervention or the kinship of all living things, but I tell you, Jerry, at that moment ... I was a marine biologist. |

Whats Star Wars without epic space combat? The game has to have space combat of some type, if I had my way it would be twitch combat very like JTL or Freelancer. I just hope it does not turn out to be this.......... www.youtube.com/watch Don't know if you can run it? |

Agreed - and I look forward to that brave new MMOworld. My ideal Star Wars MMO would play something like: The action of the JEDI KNIGHT series... The PVP of the BATTLEFRONT series... The movement, animation quality, environmental interaction and sense of adventure/exploration of the UNCHARTED games... The character customization of All Points Bulletin... The space combat of Freelancer/JTL... The sandboxy elements of SWG/Vanguard... and finally, the DEPTH of KOTOR games. MASH that all together into a hybrid monster and you've got one unbeatable SWMMO in my humble opinion :D |

Bioware hasnt released 95% of the content info yet. Space combat would most certainly be cool if added in. (AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH engages Revan in plunger vs lightsaber duel.......) Everyone on MMORPG.com before every thread put the letters IMO as you and I dont speak for the gaming community or anyone else. Playing: SWTOR, Eve Online, and World of Tanks. |

I doubt there'll be any real space combat, similar to the KotOR games. Perhaps in an expansion? |

i liked it as well. i prefer twitch fighting to precu. and im firmly against alot of things that came with nge, but im also against alot of what SWG was in any versions of it. action in a mmo is a good thing as long as its balanced with story imo. On the subject though, i certainly welcome space combat. i cant see what a SW game would be like without it. People have to remember that this game will have mmo elements, but dont expect the hdden sandbox beuty of SWG in this game. i really doubt we will see it, and you should set yourself up to expect it...... well unless your a troll that is, lol

See in my eyes that is where SOE went wrong in SWG-NGE. Not just the mucking up of clases and stuff, but that gawd-awful psuedo FPS combat system they incorperated. If they really wished to add FPS shooter combat they should have just gone total FPS combat - like we saw in say Star Wars Battlefront. Instead we got a crappy wannabe system with no physics and no LOS system in place. It sucked and always will suck. ![]() |

Originally posted by jinxit I wouldn't mind that kind of system in TOR either. Of course it has to be implemented well. That's a given with any game mechanic. It should be fun and playable on it's own, not just something slapped onto a MMORPG to provide game mechanics that people wouldn't want to play otherwise.
