I remember getting one near the end of my childhood and their was just something so mystical and neon-futuristic about It.

Plus you had awesome games like Astal, Clockwork Knight, Albert Odyssey: Legend of Eldean, Nights into Dreams etc

Sure the PSX, N64 etc were great systems and held their ground very well but there's still something just amazing that stands out in my mind about the Sega Saturn.

Looking back I regret selling mine and I think I may buy one again in the future ( I guess I can only get a used one and used games at this point ) I think I got ripped off trading my mine, IIRC I traded It in plus all my games for It towards a gamecube or something at my local gamestore.

Wasn't the Sega Saturn an awesome System?

Heck yeah! It was an amazing creation :)
No way pal! I've eaten rocks that tasted better
Moogles are actually Hironobu Sakaguchi's pet dog
I'm actually Quasi Evil Austin Powers
And thus Umaro did sheffield the winds of Time, the very essence that sung.

my fav :P

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude; greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

Yeah (^_^). That is an awesome game and one of my favorites too :)

On a side note this game ( Dark Savior ) looks pretty cool but I never got a chance to try It out when I owned a Saturn.

Hmm I never played it was too busy with N64 and PS, despite the fact that the Saturn flopped big time at least you had a lot of fun with it.

I personally can't say too much about the Sega CD. I owned a Sega Genesis and even that rare handheld one, It was called the Sega Nomad I believe where you could play Sega Genesis games on a handheld but never did I have a Sega CD.

to say the saturn was in you "chidhood" kinda tells me how old you (not in a bad way ) . Just makes me wonder if you know the REAL systems that started it all ..  I dont want to list them all but i had systems that most ppl dont even know about :) unless ur 30+

How old do you think I am? Just curious

My first system ever was the original Nintendo, NES.

And actually I have a Intellevision and some other really old school console ( I think It's an Atari or something. ) that my Aunt gave me but their away in boxes at the moment and I personally didn't start out playing on those.

I really loved it.  That was right around my last year in college.  Good times.  I still have it sitting in a trunk in my closet.

Don't forget Panzer Dragoon Saga, easily the best game on the system...or at least top 5;)  One of the best/unique RPGs ever created.

my favorite and most beloved console in my gaming memory to be sure.  Yeah it was hard to develop for.. ps1 killed it...but SEGA knew how to make the best games back then and get the best games too. Guardian Heroes, Dragon Force, Magic Knight Rayearth, Nights and xmas Nights, Dark Savior and Legend of Oasis to name just a few.  Working Designs was definitely on fire back then and their game packaging was sick.   I also remember Xmen vs Street Fighter was the only real arcade version for it, course you had to get the japanese ram card and version of the game. AHHH memories......oh yeah.....D was another great one as Enemy Zero and of course.....the might Panzer Dragoon Saga which i still have in perf condition. i think im gonna buy another saturn...i know mines gonna die some day :( and im not too sold on the emulator

I have a sega saturn stashed away in a closet but I didn't buy many games for it.  I had the Panzer dragoons one and Romance of the three kingdoms (talk about a long winded game) and a few others I don't remember.  I also have a sega genesis and a NES.  I might have still had the original Atari console but I gave it away to my sisters' kids a long time ago.

If you ever feel like playing It again, I highly recommend you try and buy Astal if you can anywhere. I really found It to be a great game.

I bought mine (split the cost with my roomate) at the SEGA company store when I was QA tester there just so we could pplay Virtua Fighter.  Play it we did!

Never had a saturn, but i loved my Dreamcast...man so much potential wasted with that system.
