And how exactly was it flawed? Is this a serious question? I cannot tell tbh... I apologize if you're being serious. When you walked into any player city and went into the keep - you'd hear a mass spam of AFK macroers casting mana missles over and over and over to raise their skill. Yeah - how is that not flawed? Get good at something by being AFK? Took a lot of hard work right there. Reminds me of the SWG entertainers who just make macro of all of their flourishes and go AFK and come back max level a day later.
That's just one, tiny example. Like he said - the intentions are great - but were not executed well at all due to being a tiny indie company who either a) didn't have the resources or b) didn't think things through well enough. The general idea was right though. |

The skill gain when magic/melee/archery is used against monsters has been upped X6. The grind is gone and people are not macroing anything anymore since its just easier to hunt monsters for loot and 6 times the xp.

How about the graphics/textures? How about the animations? I honestly think EQ1 has better animations and graphics than DF (no joke) and that's pre-Luclin. Naked zergs? Should I go on? |

What is wrong exactly with the combat, I dont know where to begin when you are so vague The graphics/textures were designed (especially player models) to be loaded up fast on any computer to support massive battles. Want AoC graphics that support 49 vs 49 or battles like DF's Yssam battles with roughly 2000 people on the island at the same time fighing, with 300 vs 300 clusters all around eachother?
Yes I thought so too.
The animations - give me a break they updated them since release, but there are things about carebears and animations that I find appaulling. Naked Zergs? Who were you fighting newbs at the starter towns?
Yes go on I am having great fun with this.
EDIT:
Darkfall combat - best combat in any mmorpg by far especially after 1:30

You can hack world of warcraft. Darkfall had about 250 accounts perma banned a few months back for hacking because after some incidents were reported (/help gm command) game logs were checked and the infractors permad.

That's like treating the symptoms but not curing the disease. Also, I was there for that. I was happy, but people were still auto-looting and walking through/hiding in walls. When they didn't fix the problem I unsubbed. Also, people may hack WoW but it's not a pvp-centric game. I won't reply anymore because the thread is hi-jacked enough and I doubt the fanboy cares. Darkfall is, based one of his previous posts, a religious experiance. But since I played they didn't fix the hacking problem. -------- The most awesomest after school special T-shirt: |

And yes lots of exploits have been fixed over the last few months, you would have to read the official forums for the full list. |

I will take a look at the patch notes and such. If I'm to criticize the game I should be up to date. If my problems are fixed then I may even resub. Don't say the haters are unreasonable, fan-acolyte. Lol. -------- The most awesomest after school special T-shirt: |

For as long as PvP games exist there will be countless flaws, countless cheats, bots, exploits you name it associated with any given PvP game. That is something that will never change, I wont bash Darkfall I did try it and I did almost like it. If it wasnt for me having just come into DF from lineage 2 myself, I probably would have liked it. However going from Massive PvP battles with superior graphics to massive PvP battles with Vomit put to pixels wasnt my thing at that time. After my dissapointment with DF I did eventually lower my standards in gaming and Try out Ace Online http://ace.subagames.com/ or re-Try I should say since the first time I played the game it was called space cowboys online. The game has its flaws, Lag can be abused to make players damn hard to kill, imagine trying to keep a missile lock on someone who lag warps clear across the screen. The fun part about Ace though, is the mass PvP, Advanced base wars, strategic points and Mothership battles are well worth the headaches of trying to kill a laggy player. The graphics like DF look like pixelized vomit, The game play however is addicting I absolutely love to log into this game and ruin someones day. Point is Dont bash DF because of its graphics, play it for what it is a PvP alternative to the other supposed PvP games that sold out its player base. |
