Flying

For a game that touts flying and arial combat as a feature they sure as hell dont tell you on the box that its limited... i mean wtf.. when i hit 10 i was sad to see that i hit the ground after only 1 min. Wtf? And this 1 min limit continued untill higher levs, which still wasnt much of an upgrade. So yeah... flying in aion? Not as free as it should be for a game that touts it as its feature. Not to mention it makes aeither grinding much more time consuming to level up. OH and lets not forget some areas dont even allow you to fly.... yeah... gg aion

There are reasons you aren't allowed to fly everywhere, and no, it's not to piss off players.

It's because:

1. You would miss most of the game's content
2. Fly above mobs to get to places
3. There would be no risk doing anything (PvE wise) including bad pulls, aggro, etc. rendering the game even easier than it already is.
4. It is exploitable in a number of ways.

There is also a reason that flight time is limited: Flying is extremely important in PvP, and you need to know when to use flight to your advantage. Being able to fly indefinitely would take away a whole dimension to PvP, which is one of the game's main advertised features. So yea, you will have to manage your flight time.

Furthermore, you're going to have to increase your flight time (yes, you can) later on in the game through gear, food etc., and this adds a few more minutes.

Aether gathering is bound to get much better then lol.

Yeah, I'm not even going to think about it.

I think Bioware makes some awesome single player games such as Kotor and Mass Effect.

Whether or not they can handle a project like an MMO is still up in the air...but I will say it does have a way better chance of success than any MMO that has come out now or in the future combined.

Even Blizzard feels that way and Swtor is the only MMO Blizzard has ever referred to possibly being a contender.

But until that day comes all I'll be looking forward to is Mass Effect 2...=/

This issue has been discussed like 3 or 4 months before the game even released, so really no point to beat on the dead horse again and again and like the 500th time.

Quest tracker doesn't track quests 10000000miles away, so you're bound to miss a lot of content. People are walking around and missing a lot (running out of quests at 17? lol), flying through everything would be even worse.

There are no flying mobs that knock you to the ground, live with it. Once they are added, then you can complain about not being able to fly. However since such mobs are not present, you play the game as it's meant to be, or don't play it at all. Don't pop problems out of your !@#$.

 Again, you're just creating a non existent problem. As you know, but can't get your mind to it apparently, NCsoft never designed flight to be used everywhere, they designed it to be used as it is now and it's working as intended and makes sense, so no it is not exploitable, therefore it's not bad design.

Flight with a timer gives you the exact same dimension than with a flight without timer, plus adding ANOTHER dimension to combat, which is another thing to be aware of. Your flight time expires? you're 99% dead. Having to check whether you have enough time to kill someone, or just retreat for the time being, do you use the pot now, or do you have more flight time than the enemy etc. If you take away all of this, I would personally find combat in the Abyss much less appealing.

I actually like gathering in this game. After years of gathering in another MMO (Dofus) it's refreshing to be able to mine the same vein more than once.

I also like the way the flight has been made. The story behind flying backs up the mechanics and the game works.

But my question to you is: Did you write your message with honest purpose to make Aion better?

Or did you post because your friends aren't in WoW anymore and you got scared?
