I looked at the guy next to him in the field and there is Kfdz fighting four mobs consecutively and resting. Guess what, so was the guy "Charat" doing the same thing. I never noticed they were bots before. I then went to Cantas coast to gather some Veneras meat and there is good ol "Ironlegs" (no wonder he didn't respond)  i saw from last night and asked to join my legion. Guess what he is a bot. So was "pentagon" , "Cheapshotts", "Yaapy" and some others. I was getting a little pissy so i decided to just switch channels from 1 to 3. just to cool down and continue my play alone. Well, just guess what i found in channel 3...

I can deal with the spammers and that is already pushing it. But This whole botter thing is beyond agitating.  I really like the game and it would be the perfect mmo for me but damn is it hard to find the perfect mmo. There is always something wrong, and its they are never good enough. Here is hoping that it gets resolved soon. I didn't believe it would happen to this game like what i thought to be trolls were saying but since release this problem has only increased. I'm starting to believe (sadly) the whole "this will be like lineage 2 botting" comments. 

It would be nice if there was a reward system and ability to kill "bots". As to the continual advertising, I know NcSoft is working on the problem, but the problem still exists making it almost impossible to talk or see what is going on with other players.

It's going to get real small real quick. Spam, Bots, and grind are what killed the game. Outside of Beluslan on Lumiel there are always at least 50 bots running around. Also nothing like seeing those stacks of 1k resources on the AH for dirt cheap prices brought to you by asfwef!

On my server EU Gorgos we had always very long queues.

Last monday we still had a queue of about 2 hours.

Last night (3 days later) the queue is down to about 40 minutes.

While on the other hand, over the course of the last couple days I have seen a vast increase of botters on my server.

Do the math.

I can live with the Gold Spammers as i just block them but the issue of the bots is another story.  It is so out of control now that i give up.  I am getting out of Aion.  I really like the game alot and it is a very polished game.  The pvp is very well done and the people playing seem to be very nice but its to the point where it is so over run now with bots that you cannot get anything done any more.  So its 4th down and long and i punt this game.  I am really sorry to see it get so out of control and its going to take a long time to get it fixed. 

My g/f was running in Aion yesterday and saw a handful of bots that was in the same area all week, and from what i heard, the original game in Korea has a few servers just full of botters.

Yep, gets rid of a shallow, repetitive, unimaginative game that isn't worth the subscription AND the gold sellers.  Win/win situation.

Spamming is that hard to deal with, but the botting will ruin the game for many and encourage them to leave.

Shame really, game isn't bad, but will get relegated to small time status just like L2 because NCSoft can't get a handle on this.

That is the sad story in this. Aion is actually the first Asian MMO I really enjoy.

And then to see it tank so fast, because of the botting getting completely out of hand is just sad.

NCSoft could hire 2 of those spammers and pay them 36 cents a day to ban every spammer and bot they see. Problem solved.

the reason there are so many is that its so easy to bot in this game.... like retarded easy. You don't even need a botting program just a keystoke recorder to continously spam target nearest and then attack buttons. You char will select a target and autorun to that target and continue to attack. All you have to do is make sure the recorder attempts enough attacks to make sure the mob is dead before you rest and repeat.

Well they better get a handle on this Bot issue and quick or this game will turn into L2 very fast.  I know i will put up with alot of things in gaming.  Gold Spammers = Block ,  Lag= Graphic card,  Unbalance = every game has it and so on.  Bots just kill a game for me and it did in this case.  I have seen the same bots with the same names now for a week in the same area's and i am just sick of them not dealing with it.  So all of you that buy gold thanks for trashing a very good game for the rest of us who do not.  PiFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

The gold spammers...I can block those.  But bots...you can't block them when they are kill stealing.

I started a post about this specific issue, but it was locked...so I'm discussing it here: What is NCSofts policy against botting.  We know, its supposed to be bannable...BUT...they don't ban them.

I logged out at 9 AM the other day, right next to where a bot was farming.  I logged back in at 7 PM when I got home...AND IT WAS STILL THERE.  I reported it....nothing happened.

I tried to report one today...(it was kill stealing) and I was given a message that it was the wrong time to report people (I'm supposed to do it from 2 to 13 oclock?!?!?).

NCSoft isn't taking this issue seriously enough and needs to fix this NOW.

While gold spammers are very annoying at least you can block those. The amount of bots in this game are insane though. I think every zone I've been in there are more bots than legitimate players. NCsoft really needs to get a handle on it or the game will turn into another Lineage 2 in the western markets.

It's like in those commercials with the detergent dissolving the fat layer on the plate.

The LFG channel is insane.  The last couple days its just gotten out of hand.  normally I find spammers an annoyance but this actually pisses me off.  They are like locusts they have completely destroyed that channel.  I can't read the spam its so bad.

The LFG channel sucked anyway, half the time it was a bunch of losers in a never ending argument about WoW.  But still this is just out of hand.

NCSoft is banning bots.  I know I have seen some bots with my own eyes get banned.  But there are still tons and they need to destroy the spammers.  Its completely obvious to a human.  Just pay some GM to impersonate a player for like 3 hours twice and week to instantly nuke every single guy who sends a spam tell or channel message.

Another thing that is going on is ppl are getting accounts stolen.  Alot.  Someone in my legions got their account stolen when their little brother logged into a phishing site.

Aion is really undersiege by these guys and many of them are flat out criminals.  Its not making the game unplayable by any means.  But its getting pretty serious.  They need to bring the hammer down.  Hardcore.  And they really need to figure out some way to have people who get their account stolen to get adequate customer support.  Spamming admin messages every 15 minutes about phishing sites is all well and good (although it almost killed me because it obstructs my view) but its that that hard to have a process in place to validate the identity and un-hijack the account.

The block list is of limited size and I know of ppl who have already reached it.  At the rate this is going you won't have any options in 1 more week.  getting to leve l10 not that slow.  NCsoft needs to instantly delete these people that + the 3 hour to level 10 thing may be enough to keep it under control.

Without them deleting these guys aggressively no one will be able to use that channel in two weeks time.

Clear the list when it gets full, those same spammers wont be there a few days later, they will be on a new account or randomly named toon.

Banning the accounts wont slow them down by much. Pretty much all the spam accounts are stolen/hacked accounts. NCsoft needs another method to slow them down. You will never be able to stop gold sellers from entering your game. They will always be a step ahead of the companies.

I suspect some people not from WoW will return to wherever as well. It's highly unlikely to change the quality of public chat channels though.
