I have played many games in the past and am quite used to gold spammers but this game is totally flooded with them , it takes me about 5 min to block the spam of them when i initially log in each day and then to keep up with the rest of them during the day as they change to new ones is more than frustrating , I keep wondering if this is NCsofts way of making additional revenue as there doesn't seem to be much done other than them saying they have removed many of them , as a new character coming to this game you can't even ask a question in any of the channels as its spammed by ... its a fun game but many of the ppl i know are to the point of quiting, I dont believe in purchasing gold to have the best gear i enjoy working for what i have but really when it comes down to it i would rather ppl had a choice to purchase it from the game developer than have to deal with the constand spamming :) /3 looking for group channel is totally ownd by these guys , good luck filtering through it to find one !!! |

oh good.. another one of these posts because we didn't have enough of them /rolleyes
Seriously don't be so damn lazy, spend 5 minutes and be spam free for your entire play time... I have done this the last few days and don't even notice the spam anymore (minus the first 5 minutes of crazy click+block)
NCSoft recognizes this and is taking steps to address it... its been talked about, over and over and over... search button is your friend. |

I have to agree with Cammy. When I log on I almost immediately have to block usually between 8-10 spammers and the most of the rest of my play session is spam free. If I set my self to /anon then I dont get any tell spam either, but oddly enough leaving myself open usually gets me about 3-5 whispers of gold spam a night. Not that I want to see it, but that is not bad at all. I am confident that NCSoft will in fact reduce this but I am also realistic in my expectations that it will never go away. No game has ever accomplished that yet. Heck, look at EQ1. its been around for 10 years. I reactivated my account earlier this year and got spam there when I was playing. So, no, I dont expect it to ever be gone, but it can at least be more manageable than what it is now and I think we will see improvements soon. If your only defense for trolling or hatred is a stupid tag line, Then you should quit life. |

Ditto. Everyone I know did the same. Will be curious to see how small Aion gets on day 31.
And I will be too soon. I give them two more weeks till my 30 days are up, but after the Lineage 2 debacle, I have not much hope to be honest. The spam doesn't even bother me too much. As what some already said. I spend 1 minute each day coming into the game to block a handful of spammers and then the rest of the playing session is pretty much spamfree. It's the amount of botters that are totally out of control! At the moment you cannot go anywhere without running into one. They are all over the place! Cantas Coast in Verteron for example. When you go there, there are a dozen Kinah Farming bots per channel alone already!! Farming there for many days on end already! Nothing is been done. Seriously tho, I love PVP. But I rather go back to EQ2 or LOTRO and play a decent western developed PVE MMO game, then a poorly handled PVP MMO that is filled with botters and cheaters. If NC doesn't get off their high horse soon. Then AION will be the first polished, decent, fun MMO to tank within the first month (or two) due to sheer incompetency. Cheers |

Spam is the smallest problem in my opinion... they're currently so slow to ban spammers that after blocking the initial batch everyday, you'll see few new ones during your playtime. Sharing spawns with a bot that you see daily and you reported more than a week ago, now that's when your patience will be truly tested... |

Why do you have to wait to cancel it? It's very simple and easy. |

At least they are aware of the gold spam. www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/255054/page/2 I seem to remember that WoW had similar problems to Aion in the beginning, especially regards to servers. I think because we're so used to WoW and how quickly Blizzard rose to the the market leader in that respect, we're less forgiving of other games that just start up.

I'd hate to add to the redundancy of these posts. But I was on the Yustiel server near pilgrims respite trying to raise my gathering skil. So me being a chanter and all I decide to give one of the guys in the field a boost of health and some buffs.
OMG OMG I looked at the guy next to him in the field and there is Kfdz fighting four mobs consecutively and resting. Guess what, so was the guy "Charat" doing the same thing. I never noticed they were bots before. I then went to Cantas coast to gather some Veneras meat and there is good ol "Ironlegs" (no wonder he didn't respond) i saw from last night and asked to join my legion. Guess what he is a bot. So was "pentagon" , "Cheapshotts", "Yaapy" and some others. I was getting a little pissy so i decided to just switch channels from 1 to 3. just to cool down and continue my play alone. Well, just guess what i found in channel 3... I can deal with the spammers and that is already pushing it. But This whole botter thing is beyond agitating. I really like the game and it would be the perfect mmo for me but damn is it hard to find the perfect mmo. There is always something wrong, and its they are never good enough. Here is hoping that it gets resolved soon. I didn't believe it would happen to this game like what i thought to be trolls were saying but since release this problem has only increased. I'm starting to believe (sadly) the whole "this will be like lineage 2 botting" comments. Working on it |

I think we might have a little more patience if NCSoft would have dealt with the same problem in L2. But given their track record of supporting RMT and cheaters there, and their current do nothing approach here, there' s not much room for optimism. |
