Attention all, Forumfall has NOT experienced this issue, therefore it's obviously not a worth while issue!
Thank you for your time.

What I'm getting at is we already know that there are  a ton of people out there with no issues whatsoever, and that's great! :D

But the rest of us still have this crashing problem to sort out, and constantly reminding us that other people don't have it, isn't going to help.

Yep, the issue is becoming more and more serious every day. The official forums and the aion source ones are being flooded by complaints. Apparently the memory leak is really there and theres some problem with the game having a 2g memory usage limit.

What needs to be sorted out now is why it happens to some and not to all. Although many ppl that say it never happened to them may never been on a fortress siege yet, and so, not been on such a crowded area.

According to this thread, the issue as been already pointed out:

www.aionsource.com/forum/aion-discussion/71012-do-you-crash-lot-during-castle-siege.html#post1526284

and its also happening on the Korean version, but not on the chinese, wich proves this was an issue brough by the patch 1.5

notice the increased number of voters that went from 300 yeasterday to more than 600

pretty shamefull for a game with 1 year of market no?

Not in the light you point it, no. New patches bring new bugs, it happens.

I agree, whats shamefull is that it completes now almost 2 months with this issue and theres still no explanation or official adress recognising the issue... Offcourse its understandable since the american staff is just public relations and dont even know anything about the game coding....

And that kind of support is shamefull

Well although i agree ncsoft should track down and resolve the issue , even if it is only 5% of the player base , 5% is a big number , i have to remark that saying Aion is a totally flawed game , and making a forum post with such a title is childish at least.

There is not even one MMO out there that has not been suffering from bugs introduced by patches.

Famous WoW was suffering from numerous bugs each patch i was there for like 3 years , EVE-ONLINE same deal , AOC well that one was a champion , WAR same .

I am pretty confident they will sort it out soon , so although i can understand it can be really frustrating be a little patient , crying about it in the forums will not solve ur problem .

I am sure they are trying hard to find out what is wrong on/with your machines, but when it's only a few, in a rather huge user base I might add, that experiencing the problem, you should do anything in your power to find out what you have in common. What software you run, what hardware you run etc, so the programmers can try and find what does this. It certainly doesn't help crying about it here...

Waiting for a game that never comes...

My system locks up in Pande and if i dont hard reboot i get a BSOD (stop error) after a minute or so.

the game runs just fine even on max settings everywhere else i've been (L22 atm) and Morheim is quite densely populated

Ive gone past the reduce all your settings, turn off all startup items through msconfig with ncsoft support

they had me download

Belarc Advisor

Everest Home Edition (which said my P5Q Pro mainboard should have a stock FSB speed of 100mhz !!!!)

they now want me to track memory usage

it just feels like they are clutching at straws with each reply i send them .... quite frustrating to be honest

LOL, you must be kidding. How many players do you suppose Aion has? 600 post out of at least 450,000 players.... Wow.... pretty shamfull indeed. I remember playing WoW about a year in and still getting stuck upon looting. Several million people were having that problem.

You are always going to have crashes with online games due to the millions of different PC configurations. If there is a deffinite memory leak... don't you think there would be a bit more then 600 people of half a million affected?

I believe it was over this past summer, the OP responded to someone who he did not agree with and basically said this is why the world hates all you Americans (more or less).   The point I am making, is this guy is a tool.  I wasnt the least bit surprised to see it was him starting this childish tirade.  I have never experienced this, no one I know in game has.  Is it really happening to some people ?  I am sure it is.  I had lockups all the time in Mass Effect the first month or so I was playing.  Through upgrading vid drivers and other adjustments, I resolved the problem.

Oh and the fact he thinks having more then 2 GB memory is causing the crashes is too funny.  EVERYONE has more then 2 GB nowadays.

Dude, this is already officially being pointed out. Stop being a ridiculous fanboy and accept the fact that the game is bugged as of this moment.... period.

You missed my point entirely.

EDIT: btw I think tryklon is blowing this out of proportion. Yeah the bug exists and it's being addressed by the Aion devs, but it's hardly a game breaking bug. On a side note, I haven't had the issue for a while now, though I can also safely say that there are fewer people on my screen as well.

Also I disagree that Aion is a "Totally Flawed Game", infact It's one of the most polished MMOs I've ever played.

Edited the thread name, since the "totally flawed game" was giving the fanboys some headaches.....

Either way, in a game heavily focused on pvp to not be able to do a fortress siege is to be flawed indeed.

I have this issue as well.  According to a very well researched thread on aionsource it is happening across a very widespread collections of configurations spanning almost all OS and VC brands/configurations.

I have a beefy computer that runs lag free as long there are not network issues.  But last time I tried a fortress siege I crashed about 15 times even with avatars turned off via shift f12 and turning down my various settings.

Its especailly annoying because not only does the crash port you out of the fort but it puts you in a very dangerous place ripe for ganking in the case of sulfur fort.

I hope this gets fixed I like the PvP in aion but if i can't do fortress sieges then I may have to cancel.  I tried the various "solutions" and as the aionsource thread mentions they do not work.  As a computer programming professional I am fairly certain there is a client side memory leak/addressing issue of some sort.  For some reason the memory addressing is reseting to zero and accessing protected memory space causing the OS to shut it down/crash the client.  And it is only happening when there are a lot of players nearby.  This is not a graphics glitch it is a memory management issue.  It may be graphics memory related but there is something wrong with the code.  Or some strange interaction with the code and some memory management service/interface.

Just to stir this soup a bit more:

I'm running Intel+NVidia with XP and everythings peachy. I've spoken with my legionaire mates and it seems if you step out of this holy triangle you are bound to meet difficulties.

I am out of that triangle you speak....and have not been bound to meet these any of these "difficulties."

My system is almost identical to his, if not identical.  Same CPU, 6 gigs tri-ram, GTX 260, the works... accept I am running Vista Ultimae 64bit.  I have yet to experience any crashes.  Granted I have not yet reached the Abyss, but I have four level 20 characters and never experienced a crash in a city or over crowded area.  Worse I have had is rubber banding which tends to fix itself after fifteen minutes of play or so.

Note saying there isn't a problem out there, but this guy saying he has found a memory leak doesn't mean it is true.  I can right support and say I am God and they should bow down before me, but that doesn't make it so.

Anyway, hope the people having issues with the crashes are able to get that fixed.  Have a good day, people!

Heh talk about not knowing what's under your hood. The 920 Core i7 can safely OC up to 4.0Ghz, that's why it's so popular since it's cheap and can achieve around the same performance as the other, more expensive, CPUs.

Hey folks,

I been meaning to post this for awhile and keep forgetting. I had the same issue with the "driver stopped responding" issue with LOTRO and a few other games. I found this website and started down the list. My issue was with a windows Hotfix update KB952287. I uninstalled it and my issues went away, now I am not  saying it will fix everyone's problem, but it's worth a try if you have it installed. The website for all other solutions so far is www.repairyourpcnow.com/resources/atikmdag-has-stopped-responding.php. Hope it's ok to post this link.

Good luck

Anyway, hope the people having issues with the crashes are able to get that fixed.  Have a good day, people!

Sounds like I have the same PC that you do. Vista 64, 6G DDR3, i7 920, GTX 260 1792MB. Trust me when I say this, if you go to a siege you will crash. I crashed about 15 times at the siege last night on Zikel.

I did not crash even one time until I got to the Abyss and started playing in massive PVP groups, then the crashes started.
