So far the fun factor is high (queue time waiting excluding), so I'll keep on playing.

Besides, due to origin, there plenty of great stuff incorporated to the game, art style and combat feel included. In comparison, "western" developed MMOs feel sterile (what's wrong with having a sexy looking avatar?) and the combat is usually a hit and miss approach, especially melee (like swinging a feathered stick instead of a sword).

What's perceived as "asian" style gameplay, aka grind, is actually a direct copy of the EQ gameplay. This time they followed the EQ2 gameplay. NCsoft and EQ developers seem to share quite a few ideas, if you read the press about it. Even the keybinding is directly derived from EQ2.

I have to type this big because I said the same thing so many times and people just can't seem to understand on this issue.

Grind or no Grind is personal choice, Aion does offer either Quest grinding (personally, I don't think quests are grinding), Solo grinding, or group grinding.  You just CAN NOT pvp to lvl up like Warhammer.

Quests are like many other MMO, the same old style.  Go to kill XX mobs and collect YY items.

All these have been posting on this forum prior to the game release, so by posting this topic like the 100th times is not offering any new information to the new players.

If you hate this game so much and you hate all those so called "Grind Fest", you should have known it before you purchased the game.  Now people are saying "They are canceling the account" either they are lying or just not even playing this game at all.  Reason is "If you already know about this website and you actively posting here, there is no way that you have no idea this is a "GRINDING GAME TO YOU"

the thing you can only find in this game is just cute character and  graphic only.

stay away from this one, this one is a total disappointment after +30 level.

At first, I thought you were the average troll, and I even reported your first few posts.

I was mistaken. You, sir, are a genius. You are what trolls go to bed dreaming they can someday be.

You maintain the same delivery but, by tactically spacing out the interval between threads, you manage to consistently reel in more than even the most spacious of fishing trawlers could hope to bring in.

Keep this up and you're going to either need to get a bigger boat or have to start tossing some of them back in.

I salute you, Arri. I truly do.  o7

hahaha

Well played ;)

That's what I felt too.  I understand there are people who don't like Aion.  But I dont' understand why anyone would make a new thread every week on a game which he dont' even play.

So he either have mental problem or is a wow stock holder.

i just hope mmo developers who were thinking about adding more interesting questing/pve mechanics wont give up and go the easy aion way.

also i dont see why everyone talks about some better group killing/exp and shit like that. you just prove the point that this game is a grindfest. in a grindfest all you do is kill mobs. a lot of them. slowly. for shitty exp...

which is exactly what you do in aion......................

i mean... fans of aion... please admit - you like grindfests.

maybe grindfest wont be such a bad word these days that aion managed to get so many fans... ;]

You have no idea what the heck you're talking about.

The term "asian grindfest" was used to describe games like Lineage 2 and Ragnarok Online where it took up to a year of dedicated playing to reach the cap.

Aion is only 2 weeks old, with lots of server ques and already people reached the cap.

just because a game doesn't let you max out your character in a week after purchase doesn't mean that it's an asian grindfest.

bro, its an asian grindfest

what was Lineage's lvl cap? what's ragnarok's level cap?

there are some people in my guild that i've seen on pretty much all the time, that are just now hitting 40.....

i understand defending it, because you like it a lot... but be real

I like the game myself

not the pve, grind fest.. but the actual game

Bro, it doesn't matter what lineage or Ragnarok's level cap is because that's irrelevant. The fact remains that those two games required up to a year of dedicated playing to reach the cap.

They are now just hitting 40? wow, and the cap is 50. That means that in 2 weeks, they nearly reached the maximum level. Yeah that's definitely comparable to games which took up to a year of dedicated playing to reach the cap amirite?

By your defintion, WoW, Lotro, EQ2, Warhammer, Age of Conan are all asian grindfests.

You are right... leveling for a year to max level and leveling for 2 months to max level is EXACTLY the same thing...

WoW is a grindfest by your logic as well I presume? If not - I'm going to rofl... in fact, every MMO is a grind fest, even something like Guild Wars that takes you literally 10 hours to get to max level... why is it a grind fest? Because - what do you do after cap? You likely grind for skills... or you grind for ectos.... or you grind for 15k Armor... or 1 mil armor (whatever its called - its been a while)... and yes, you PVP... which, what's really the difference?

Such rubbish on these forums... swear the posts are getting worse by the day.

sorry bro

if you have to kill endless repetative mobs (renamed, slightly reskinned) throughout most of the levels, there is nothing you can defend

you try and get on my shit, i actually like the game, not the grind.... (there is a difference)

honestly your defending a company, that ..

1. couldn't come up with anything original to make the pve new/exciting/different/makes you not pay attention to the xp bar

2. thrown together story line, to mask the fact that you'll be grinding an endless amount of mobs

....

more or less, a lazy company... that knew people would accept it and deal with it

I know another "lazy" company who did the exact same thing... funny - they have about 9 million subs.

Not sure what I have to "defend". I quite like Aion and so do many, many other people... its only a few trolls who are very vocal about their distaste for the game that tries to make it bad for everyone. What's worse is we sit here and defend it when we should be off playing and having fun - more or less ignoring this cesspool of a forum(s) ;) So - think that's what Im gonna do... good day to you sir.

i don't disagree

i like aion too, i don't like the grind in aion

i'm not from WOW, unless you count the first month of release.... and i saw the game for what it was.. and I'm seeing Aion for what it is

the thing that seperates the two, is the pvp seems like its a bunch better then WoW ever had a chance to be....

not sure what I'm doing with this game yet... gonna play it for the "free 30 days"

Then you simply do not like what they call "theme-park" MMOs. Every game that has a level based system you will not enjoy.

If you like PVP and you want a skill based system, you want to play something like Darkfall. Aion is definitely not for you (and that's fine - it isn't for everyone)

no you are correct, i don't prefer "theme park" mmos

but this mmo is a theme park that drops you off and tells you the next ride isn't for hours from now, chill and kill these repetative mobs until your tall enough to go on the ride

you try and get on my shit, i actually like the game, not the grind....

Umm... ok so Im a bit confused now. You're saying that you don't like Themepark MMO's... but yet, you're playing Aion? Surely you did some research before purchasing 2 copies (one for you and your wife).

If you don't like themepark MMOs why would you pick up Aion? I don't get it..? May I ask what game you did come from (and if you say EVE I'm getting the facepalm picture out) :) That was a joke ;) lol

it IS asian grindfest with nice graphics. and while a few years ago everyone were whining that mmos have too much grind, not interesting/enough quests... etc...

people seem to like Aion.

i just hope mmo developers who were thinking about adding more interesting questing/pve mechanics wont give up and go the easy aion way.

also i dont see why everyone talks about some better group killing/exp and shit like that. you just prove the point that this game is a grindfest. in a grindfest all you do is kill mobs. a lot of them. slowly. for shitty exp...

which is exactly what you do in aion......................

i mean... fans of aion... please admit - you like grindfests.

maybe grindfest wont be such a bad word these days that aion managed to get so many fans...

After playing and reaching certain level such as 30~50, people say this one is a huge grinder with no concept.

the thing you can only find in this game is just cute character and  graphic only.

stay away from this one, this one is a total disappointment after +30 level.

Coming from someone who hasn;t played the game, and has 14 posts.

I vouch for this game and will recommend it to anyone who enjoys a  fantasy MMO

IT has some grindy aspects but it makes up for it in original gameplay and story
