Just for those of you looking to pick a fight, no the title of this post has nothing to do with bashing Aion. The actual question is about the classes. Which classes are seen the most right now? I'm going to get the game within a week and when I start I don't want to just play a "flavor of the month" class, you know, like how the paladin was in WoW after WotLK came out. I really was thinking either Sorcerer or Templar, as these classes are based on the two things that a like: either do alot of damage or take alot of damage. So, if there is a class played the most by people, which is it? |

I would say there is a good mix so far with people choosing classes. I would say there are less Chanters and Rangers but that could just be my server with others being a different balance. In group play so far (from my perspective) there have been enough healers, and enough tanks (Templars) as they seem a good interesting class. Occasionally we have just been looking for additional DPS for our groups. Despite any of this above, you should chose the class you want to play, not what others think is a good idea. You enjoying it is most important as in my opinion you will still be able to find a legion or group regardless of class. |

My suggestion would be to not use a spirit master because later on at least in dungeons there will probably be only 1 per party since their dots don't stack. Maybe ncsoft will do something to fix that. |

Hmm, according to that link earlier it seems pretty even across the board. I think I'm going to play a templar after all, though. It seems like it would appeal to me the most anyway. |

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. |

Like mentioned above, the classes are all very balanced. The bug with the Spirit Master (atleast I hope it's a bug) where dots don't stack isn't all that bad. Right now, SM's have got the shaft because of DoTs on stacking, and because their pets can't fly. However, I know they are fixing that in a upcoming patch, and I REALLY hope they are fixing the DoT's.
All in all, this game is incredibly balanced, and I'm having fun with it. The potential this game has, and with the company behind it, is amazing. It may very well be the largest niche game next to WoW. |

Everybody is still in the honeymoon phase with their chosen class seeing how it will work out. So everything is pretty even right now. Expect Sorcerers, SMs, Rangers, & Clerics to start growing in numbers as PvP matures and the Abyss starts seeing more people. The common denominator that those classes share should be pretty obvious. |

Lot's of chanters on my server, Other than that I would say it's balanced for all classes. Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries... |

I'm surprised there aren't more templars. I know most players give a bad rap towards playing a tank class in a PvP oriented game but holy shit are templars hard to kill in this one. They may not do a ton of damage but considering their level of survivability not sure they need to. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Classes are decently balanced though there are a lot of Clerics due to their versatility I think. I would suspect that as more people get exposed to PvP and realize that it is not at all a solo or small group experience that the support utility classes will pick up in popularity as will classes with ranged abilities as melee is not going to work so well in mass PvP gank fights. -------------------------------- |
