I agree. It would also be nice to have more than 2 or 3 factions. Like Horizons was supposed to be or how Fallen Earth would have been if there was no faction hopping. |

This sounds an awful lot like wishfully thinking Communism would work, without comprehending that that's just not how humans are wired. |

Originally posted by Axehilt Very interesting article - though I'd be more impressed if there weren't pictures of chimpanzees when monkeys are being discussed. I must be one amazing monkey, as I think of every human as a person, rather than a thing. Thanks for the link. Warhammer must have been designed by very small-minded monkeys, indeed. I wouldnt really change anything. Cause for as long as there are MMO's there will be grinding, leveling, and imature and unskilled players. And thats the way I like my MMOs. Is your life worth living? |

It would have to be cutting down on the solo content. To say 60/40 solo /grouping. |

One changes just isn't enough. First I would change the focus of mmo development from gear centric to character development and while doing this I think it would also be a good time to get rid of class/level system. Second I think they should stop designing mmo around the holy trinity.

Ok, so humans are inherently selfish and greedy creatures. What's to stop a video game from giving incentives to work together. After all, humans are determined to survive. It's instinct. So if you HAD to rely on others in order to survive, that's not really communism. They could make it fun and interesting to help out your faction without having some stupid item rewards. Status would be a mutual conglomerate, not an individual e-peen contest. |

Originally posted by Palebane That is a very sound observation. It is co-operation which caused Humanity to become the dominant species. An individual Human is a pretty feeble creature, compared to the competition. It's true that small groups tend to co-operate better than large ones. Both in real life, and in MMOs. A mob of the same level that can kill me, or make me screem for my mommy. Loot drops that make sents, dogs don't carrie swords. …..it’s a guideline, not a rule, as players we must remember: “It’s a Game”. |
