Yeah, I was going to ask the same question. Could any testers chime in on what's been improved / added from the alpha and closed beta phases? I'm especially curious as to whether there's been any noticable improvement in terms of performance (ranged combat felt really wonky back in CB) and whether any further content and / or sandbox tools have been implemented.

The first machine gives me around 30 outside the bank at Kingman a well populated area, out in the open alot more ofcourse. I have every settings on high and in catalyst I have all settings on quality. The FE options for AA is turned off though. Outside the bank in Embry I got 25-30fps awhile back but not shure on what settings I had at that time. The second benchmark is taken on a laptop, not default test and I can't really remember what setting I changed. It could be the resolution changed to 1280x800. On that computer I have to turned graphics to medium textures/no shadows/all sliders set at 70% and get 30-35 fps in a populated place, like the bank outside Kingman. I would expect a high populated place like Embry would make it lower. If I turn down all settings I get 50-55 fps. No AA. They have done some optimizing for dual+ core CPUs and memory with Vista x64.

+1 for Dark Pony Darn them for making players have to think outside of the box a tiny, tiny bit, lol! "Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..." |

Thanks, good piece of info. I'm loving the game so far, I'm not a huge fan of FPS games and the graphics are clunky, but it's the first game in a long time to give me that "what do I do now?" feeling upon entering the world. Despite the graphics being subpar the art direction is really good and the fact that I'm always scratching and clawing to get ahead really adds to the post apocalyptic feel. It's a deep game, the community is really behind it and the devs seem to be on top of things so hopefully it keeps growing and improving a la Eve. |

That's a perfect contradiction. You don't like being "led" by quests, but you expect same level nodes to be in one place. Think again :) DB Edit: also, limited inventory place just helps immersion of real life.

Fallen Earth, though not nearly as polished as some MMORPG's, seems to be the first MMO in a LONG time with the balls to be different and seems very interestig and awesome. I keep hearing it's a SWG players' new game -- very much not like the cookie cutter crap that's been bleeding out of the industry. Definitely interested in the title.. |

Thanks for the reply, Orphes. I may give this another try then.
