I'm not irritated the guy is trying to tell us how much T3 frig hull and sub systems are worth months before we have them. Hes always so negative when it comes to Eve. He's a fortune teller dude, we should all seek his wisdom because he knows what lies ahead. PLaying: EvE, Ryzom Waiting For: Earthrise, Perpetuum |

Which implies that CCP sliced off ~1/16th of their gross income to fight the ISK farmers. Pretty impressive. How many game companies do you see reducing their revenue by 6% to address player concerns? Give me liberty or give me lasers |

It isn't that much about player concerns. It's because CCP know what keeps their game running. The economy is vital to eve, and isk farmers screw with it. CCP needs a market they can control to a certain extend and manipulate via game design changes, to keep everything in a working condition. |

That is pretty amazing. I wonder how many of these players just start another account? I know one thing. Go to any high sec system with more than 7 or 8 belts and you will find hulks that never drop a can and go back and forth between stations and belts for hours on end :( |

My Friend does that when he is Studying... With 2 accounts.. I keep telling him use his Itty and make Life easy.. But he just won't. If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude; greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen. |

It's not that bad from their perspective. It's not 18.000 that where all active at the same time. More like 5.000. But once they got banned they created new accounts and so on and that lead to 18k total banned. And the monetary loss is not as high as you would expect because a large part of these accounts are payed for with stolen credit cards and other similar illicit means. This results in charge backs which cost CCP a fair amount of money because when you get too many charge backs the credit card companies starts to up their fees. These 5000 isk farmers also used a unproportional large amount of server resources. They banned 2% of the accounts and cpu load went down 30%. The means they can fit more real players without getting lag. "Memories are meant to fade. They're designed that way for a reason." |
