No... it's like playing chess with only Pauns and rooks.... or boxing with only jabs and hooks..... or playing football with only linemen and quarterbacks.... the more class variability a game has the more complicated it becomes.... sooooo.... fewer classes equils simplicity of play.... generaly that is..... I enjoy complexity... so I want more classes... you may be satisfied with Arena football.... but I like the NFL ... if you don't get what I'm saying .... I'm sorry..... comparing MMO's to chess and boxing is stupid anyway. BoB |

Wrender, I had a similar problem. What I was doing "wrong" was that I was typing [ /block <name> ] , with the first letter of the name in lower-case. This results in the system returning the message that the player is blocked, but it does not actually do anything. If you do what I did, right-clicking will NOT work, until you first type [ /unblock <name> ]. Then you can right-click block, or use [ /block <name> ] (with the first letter of the name capitalized) and it should work. Hopefully this helps, I was as frustrated as you until I figured it out. Played last night for about 5 hours, blocked 4-5 spammers in that time. Doesn't seem to bad to me for a new game, but I'd like to see the spam diminish over the next couple months.

I think this is something that you deliberatly mis-interpret. The point that I was making is that having identical "moves" or "abilities" does not make people identical. There is a large number of variability in many aspects of the gameplay, now whether that is enjoyable to you or not is a different question. If you get beat in WoW's Arena or Aion pvp - that's because the other guy is better than you (not as a human being, but at pushing some buttons in some, optimal order).

Are there botters in the game running rampant yet? |

Offer to sell in-game currency like CCP does with EvE online and match the market price so no one is going to buy it off the gold farmers. It's the only way to stop it. You get more money since players are now paying your company for the gold rather than some Chinese guy, and your playerbase is free of the constant spam. |

I'm not sure NcSoft realizes the scope of this problem.
Now that I can get right on to my server since there are no longer queues (I'm thinking this is a good thing?), my first few minutes are spent blocking all the obvious goldsellers (you know who you are, asdufiudfiujk) and then blocking all the people who went to the site to claim their 'free' gifts from NcSoft and all they had to do was enter their username and password, and then I block all the people talking about wow, or Obama or my mom and then I'm sort of ready to play
Crap, I forgot to /anon and am getting whispers from more gold sellers so I need another few minutes to block those jerks.
Wow, something I put up sold in the AH! Woot. Go pick that up.
Ok, ready to check my quest journals and mark the quests I want to finish tonight. Unfortunately, that's all the time I have tonight to play. I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

Go to WoWinterface and search for Spam, you'll find some. |

In Aion so far dropped gear has sometimes exceeded quest gear, and I've not seen any evidence that I need some sort of crafted gear at the lower levels to succeed. If no one really feels the need to buy it, they gold sellers will subside on their own and move on to more profitable games. (I've not reached the upper levels however, and perhaps you really do need a lot of gold to thrive)
Ya know I never understood that mentality. Why don't they just make a game for 15 dollars a month you spend an hour or two creating your character and soon as you log in you are presented with an armor/weapon shop that has every possible item you could find all for free that you just pick and equip and when you leave the shop the entire game world consists only of a rotating pedestal to stand on and emotes for /dance /showoff? Maybe I should go into the MMO buisness myself .,I think I might be able to pull that off pretty easily **** Sarcasm OFF!
I know you were joking, but there is such a "game" out there and it is very popular. It is Second Life. You make the toon, buy currency (Linden Dollars) and buy all the stuff you can afford from shops to make your toon pretty, rp compatiable, combat ready, etc. After all that, most folks wander around looking pretty, socialize and dance. It's not about weapons and armor usually, but it is exactly what you have described. |

You know you can make custom chat tabs? I made one that has enemy activity (in red letters), group chat, and legion chat. I keep that one on most of the time ao i don't see any of the gold spammers messages. It works well as a warning indicator that Asmodians are in the area too. But I agree that NCSoft is not taking the action they were supposed to in controllion the spam. Maybe they need to hire more GM's. |

Actually in wow, if you right click on the name, it blocks them from your chat windows and reports them at the same time. I see one message, report, never see them again, until a new one comes along. I have seen maybe 3-4 in the last month or so. |
