Despite all the hate threads you see on these forums i enjoy it and so does every person ive played with. Most of the people that enjoy this game are too busy playing it so all you see here are troll hate threads.

I havent been captivated by a game like this since the beggining of wow. If you were considering trying this id say try it. Its far better then playing wow imo (now that ive played it for so many freakin years). Also, there isnt anything else that has this fun factor out right now at least for me.

I hate Aion.... Well I wouldn't say hate but it's definately at the bottom of the list of the MMO's I've played.

Aion combat -  Slow, boring, repetative.

Champions Online combat - Fast, huge variety of stylish attacks, abilty to take on groups and not just one enemy at a time.

Ill direct this question to you. Do you really want every MMO to be exactly the same? A fucking quest stacker with the same gameplay, basic UI and feature set in every game?

When I load up a SP Rpg its a new experience with different gameplay mechanics, I don't bring home a game that plays like Final fantasy over and over. Those copycat games that bring nothing to the genre are given low ratings and dont sell, yet the MMO players eat that shit up and are all but destroying this genre.

The MMO genre as a whole is a running joke that a 5+ year old game is so dominant. Fuck, I would go nuts if every Fps game played like Halo or every Rpg was the same shit like FF or every Action game played like GTA.

Yet here you are happier than a pig in shit playing the same crap over and over and over since EQ.

I think the problem many have is that game offers nothing new really, and unforgivably is very linear and increasingly relies on grinding as you progress. Yes there is RvR at the end, but that's nothing new either.

I agree with the OP, this is a very fun game-grind or not-

Aion's easy but not easier than WoW.

Best gear is not handed to you on a silver platter. You got to search for some quests, God forbid! Some mob grinding is required at certain levels. Mobs are harder to kill.

PvP-wise, well let's just say I would love to see you try getting Commander rank.

Also I get the feeling you haven't played passed level20 as it's the only part of the game that is comparable to WoW... and the worst part in the entire game IMO.

Aion Easier than WoW,are you serious?! There's not a game out easier than WoW. They have dumbed down everything so bad that it would my brain to play it again. So you either A. Never played Aion before. B. Aion Troll.

And what do you expect it is an MMORPG!! For gods sake. Most companies will go with the norm and take more risks after they have subs. I disagree. The FPS genre has come such a long way since games like Doom, Quake and Half-life.

Rts games don't even resemble old shool rts and Sports even being a bit handicapped by a RL ruleset have really improved leaps and bounds. Play Madden 10 and tell me Madden 93 is the same shit.

meanwhile most people (that started with MMOs back in 97) will say WoW is just a Dumbed down version of EQ. Basically no innovation whatso ever comming from the themepark (linear) sub genre.
