FE might not be for everyone, but a lot of foks have changed thier minds after level 5 and even more after level 10. You might as well use the 30 days free you get.

If it sucks just chalk it up to a expensive life lesson and wait for 6 months after a MMO's release to try it.

You can rant away, all I'm saying in this post is you already have the days use them up, otherwise its like taking a bite of a bannana split, hating it and throwing everything out. Take 3 or 4 bites, first and make sure.

I just do not see how someone is at level 10. I was grinding away all day yesterday (the times I could actually play) and it took me forever to get to level 3. I just killed Juan de Santiago (I think that is his name - disease ridden guy someone in Zanesville wants you to kill) over and over again. I swat him about 4 times melee and he is down - less than a 10 second respawn. So, within 1 minute time, I could kill him about 4-5 times. He gives 55 points xp. I did this for about an hour and a half - that is roughly, on the low end, near 20,000xp.

I did this from midway through level two and ended with about one-third through level 3.

How much xp does it take to level?

By the way, I don't agree with you that the relevant market here is health care. You're not regulating health care. You're regulating insurance. It's the insurance market that you're addressing and you're saying that some people who are not in it must be in it, and that's -- that's different from regulating in any manner commerce that already exists out there. - Scalia

To be fair, if you are any sort of craftier, even questing takes longer, because you are easily distracted by all the nodes everywhere. This is not a bad thing.

This game has that "Just one more turn" feeling of civ games, its that addictive... That, and the quest text is extremely funny, the game is very humorous, I read just about everything, even stand around and listen to NPC banter. Also, exploration.

I am sure if all you do is quest, and not read a thing, you could level very fast if you wanted to. Its the beauty of this design, there are so many ways to advance, I just play, and advancement comes. There are just a lot of options in play in this game.

Couldn't do quests yesterday do to the server issues, but most quests I had seen offer 500xp - I get that in less than 2-3 minutes repeat killing the mob.

I'm not at all making a gripe of the game, I actually quite like it- I am just wondering if something is wrong. My AP points continue to increase, but not my level. I've yet to spend any AP points - I have 45 now, but I am barely level 3. Is there a way to see how much xp is required to level? I know there is a %, but not the actual point count I can find.

I really did not do quests yesterday because of server issues.

I don't know what the amount is, but it is a constant amount per level. You may feel like it takes forever to go from level 2 to 3 because other MMOs do this in a blink of the eye. The good news is it should take you the same amount of time to go from 19 to 20.

I'm steadily doing about a level every 5 hours with plenty of crafting, gathering, chatting and general piddling around time.

Quite content with the pace (I'm currently only level 19 on my main.)

Progression is flat. How many XP is needed is unknown at this time. However the circle around your AP 45 in the upper right shows your progress. Each time the circle fills, you get one dash in the other circle, get all the dashes filled, and you gain a level.

AFAIK you get AP for each dash, and each level you gain.

You probably want to spend some of that AP. Levels themselves aren't as important as AP and what you spend it on.

I was FAR from being sure about this game in the first few levels.  However the more i play now, the more i love it.  This game is very addictive.  You have been warned.

I know. I just don't know on what I should spend it. I don't want to screw up and reroll and lose my bonus ATV.

So far, I've only spent AP on skills I need when I need them.
Example..  "Oh, I want to make armor for myself...  Need 15 point in Use Armor..  Ok, there.

Oh, new crossbow (I know I want rifles, so this works out.)  spend a few points in rifles.
I've got 48 banked unspent AP at the moment.   I'm scavenging, crafting, killing, etc  just fine.

When I start to not be just fine, I'll worry more about it then.  Until then, my "Spend it as I need it" plays style will work out.

I only visit the forums to ride the "Hype-to-Hate" roller coaster of every new title.

Yep I've been in since the 9th, and actually I'm level 23.

Its the ATV quest line. Starting in oilvilled and taking your to embry, odenville and pass chris to build and assemble the ATV. Each town with the quest npc usually gives you 4-5 quests to get the seperate parts. Engine, Chassis, Control and tires.

Simply building it (8 hours real time, so set yourself to build before you log out for the night) will level you through 15. Convert the key  into motorcycle research and build a motorcycle for yourself.

Well when your done its about 7 or 8 levels all told between the quests and the build xp.

Tada your in your late teens with a badass ride.
