Ew, just...ew. FFX is a stain to the greatness of the final fantasy series. That being said FFX-2 is even worse. Much worse.
But you can't deny FF X-2 has the best battle system SE has done. :P |

I like Fallout3 and Oblivion, as for older games chronotrigger had a ton of replay cause of the multiple endings, and I totally got into final fantasy 3, the story was great. I think one of my first though was legend of zelda that and dragon warrior. |

Well some great RPG's have been mentioned, Im going to go back to my Sega master system days, and say shining force 2 and Phantasy Star 3. Love the Suikoden series and the FF series, and I still have my copy of Xenogears that I play every now and then. |

Yeah, what you said. I forgot about Golden Sun all together. The only thing i don't agree with is about Fallout 3 which I think is comparible to the previous Fallout games. Just my opinion though. |

Pretty much every rpg mentioned in this thread lol. If I had to choose though it would be one of the many Final Fantasy games. Originality is the fine art of remembering what you hear but forgetting where you heard it. - Laurence J. Peter |

My favorite RPGs of all time:
I had a hard time sorting them in order of most favorite... but I guess I would have to say KOTOR was the best for me. I have played it probably 20 times through at this point. |

The original pc version where you start out in that circular city and baldur shows up and you're out in the wilderness or something like that. I remember going to some Inn and getting into a fight and one of my mage npc's killed everyone with fireball. I just couldn't get into it. Not the least of which I recall it being very difficult. I like to explore and oh look whats that a basilisk... petrified.. game over. I ended up getting this character editor and made all my characters godlike with the best items and played it through.

1. Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (sorry to someone earlier in this topic, but Redemption was horrible). Can't beat the appeal of an RPG designed for adults. Great music, great storyline, actual consequences for in-game choices... damn shame Troika went out of business shortly afterward. Add in the still-active modding community, who have updated the game's textures, added content, new models.. and the replay value of this game just goes through the roof. 2. System Shock (just didn't really care too much for System Shock 2; not sure why). 3. Planescape Torment (great RPG; they really did justice to the AD&D property). 4. Fallout (loved the 50s kitsch!) 5. Final Fantasy 7 (normally can't stand console RPGs, but the storyline was engaging and well written). 6. The Witcher (can't wait for The Witcher 2, now that the development has been leaked). Abbatoir / Abbatoir Cinq |
