They make the grind so boring that most of us want to skip through it because it's the same goddamn grind we've done since the first time we logged into WoW. How About Something New To Keep Us Interested?

If you quest with a friend and do not gather/craft at all, you will be running out of quests around 22+ If you are soloing, gathering and crafting a bit, you will have no problem. "The person who experiences greatness must have a feeling for the myth he is in." |

If you think the leveling in Aion is to grindy then I suggest you need to find a new genre to play,as Aion has made it as painless as possible. |

How About Something New To Keep Us Interested? No actually both are at fault. If it wasn't for WoW we would never have had all these crappy WoW-wannabes trying to cater to the millions of WoW gamers. The overwhelming majority of today's gamers are spoiled. |

Spoiled? This is a game. For fun. Not well, it's going to take me two weeks go go up 25% of my bar to my next level, but it's worth it, because this is an mmo... Gimme a break. If casual games are selling, than why would devs NOT want to go that way? There are plenty of games that are not casual for those that don't prefer it. |

Why don't these people just go out and buy a console and game for it and then look up some cheat codes on the internet and then go log on to some other forum to whinge about how the developers didn't make any effort to make the game fun and interesting after they played it for 10 minutes in god mode. Gits.
This guy probably was one of the people crying out in general "Where is Tutty?" "Where is the cube?"
People complain that they don't do anything original or interesting in these new fantasy based mmos which is bit like buying milk and complaining that it is boring and why can't they provide something more interesting.
The Tutty sequence is amusing and adds to the overall enjoyment of leveling your character as you learn about playing your character and exploring the world. If you don't want to play the game that is fine but then go do something else and stop bothering the rest of us that are having fun. |

Don't give extreme examples, I consider myself a casual gamer and I'm enjoying Aion a lot. WoW was just too much, since TBC it's getting easier by the week and the majority of MMO players post-WoW started playing MMOs with WoW. That's what I mean by spoiled, everything is given to you on a silver platter in that game, there just isn't any challenge to do anything. Aion has it just right IMO, but still people such as the OP wants to /insta lvl50.

Originally posted by Electriceye That's not why he wants insta 50. It's because the grind is b o r i n g. Why is it boring? Because it's the same old leveling process from WoW. Why go through the same shit again in a different game? What point does it have? If it's not even slightly different, why even bother with leveling when you've seen it all million times before? When the leveling process is actually original and fresh you don't have these "plz insta 50" people around. They'll actually enjoy leveling because it's something new and interesting.

I don't know what your expecting on FFXIV but it will be something similar maybe with less quests so it's not a problem with the game it's that you/him are burned of this type of games. |

It's because he was fine till 20, then found the quests dry up after that level and complained. From the OP: "Once you get above lvl 20 the quests are few and far between, its just grind grind grind. bleh, should have known this was coming." "Not saying the game is bad, I guess WoW just turned me into a candy ass when it comes to leveling." He's complaining about the mob grinding, not because it's the same old leveling process. |

Actually, this is very unlike WoW, where the leveling is quest rich and super fast. |

Originally posted by Electriceye Ah, the same old leveling process, but worse? I could see why he would want to get to 50 as fast as possible. Doing the same grind 100 times over is one thing, but to do it 100 times with each time being worse than the previous? I symphatize with this guy.

Doing the same grind 100 times over is one thing, but to do it 100 times with each time being worse than the previous? I symphatize with this guy. I don't. He should have researched for 2minutes before purchasing the game you know, like, when sometimes a person prefers to KNOW what it is he's buying? And later on it's NOT the same leveling process, and that's what he's complaining about. He actually WANTS the same leveling process as WoW, which it isn't. It's a bit harder to find quests, and sometimes you need to mob grind a bit. Oh noez! EDIT: It's not worse. That's your opinion, and opinion =/= fact. A lot of people hate questing and prefer grinding the whole game. Myself, I like a bit of both. |
